Better to die at home?

I agree with this, cats tend to go fairly fast when their days are up. Though they typically take many hours to die when they actually die, they don't seem to be in much pain when they do but rather hearts just become fainter and fainter so they mostly seem to fade away. Unless the cat were in pain, I'd move it around and feed it and continue to spoil it with attention.

Oh that is rough, I lost two cats a couple years ago to coyotes and now only have two left. Never got a chance to say goodby to those two. Sad.

I cried so much one time when I had to have a vet put a really old cat friend, down. Didn't expect to tear up but I was blubbering bad.
Came out of nowhere, surprised me.

Be sure to be careful, grieving folks are not the best at being aware and careful.

Sorry for your loss. Hugs Heartflowers

Sorry for your furry buddy also. Glad you are able to care for a disabled dog. Cats would go mad on a wheel chair thingy I expect. 1dunno1

Oh no! So sorry for your loss. I remember when we had a cat 40 years ago, it jumped btwn house rooftops to escape dogs chasing it, ended up breaking every bone. It crawled back to our home and cried out before dying..

OP

When cats die naturally, it is rather quick.

I’m sorry for your loss but this doesn’t have to be the end.

It might be more painless to wait for him to die naturally.

Even without legs he could still live a happy life.

When humans lose limbs they are given an option to continue to live if that is what they want.

Animals deserve the same respect.

You could maybe find fake limbs for him as long as they don’t require anything like a microchip in the brain, etc.
