Bill Gates says we can’t restart the economy soon and simply “ignore that pile of bodies over in the corner”

Gates rebuked the proposal of leaders like Donald Trump.

https://www.vox.com/recode/2020/3/24/211...n-business

“There really is no middle ground, and it’s very tough to say to people, ‘Hey, keep going to restaurants, go buy new houses, ignore that pile of bodies over in the corner. We want you to keep spending because there’s maybe a politician who thinks GDP growth is all that counts,’” Gates said in an interview with TED Tuesday. “It’s very irresponsible for somebody to suggest that we can have the best of both worlds.”

Yeah, the pile isn't high enough for him yet.
Listening to anything that murdering asshole has to say, is beyond moronic.

two idiots with different agendas. f*#k both

I do not label myself. What I stand for is based on my own convictions, and I don't care which box - the left one or the right one - they happen to belong.

Social distancing, quarantining, and isolating are experiments, and we need to accept that. It was always a trade off: do we lock down and let the economy take a hit or do we try and preserve the economy and let chaos reign for 10 weeks with mass infections and serious cases flooding our health care way way way beyond capacity? I think the former is a better option. Economy can be revived. We don't want an Italy-like situation; it's hell there. Wuhan's lock down was strict and that seems to have quelled the spread of the virus beyond. Like another poster said, we can't have the best of both worlds: humming economy and mass quarantine. It was always going to be a trade off, as is the case with emergency situations.

While I voted for Trump, if my husband gets sick from working his "forced" essential job in a building of 150 other workers making stupid fake wood closet doors for home construction, I'll never forgive him.

I'm over 60, with COPD and I need my husband home so we can try to not become infected.
Also, need him home due to higher risks of home invaders.

I have guns but I'd love a chance for my husband and I to properly isolate for a month or so.

Trump's slowly getting on my bad side.

Your husband can take leave and get paid for it. If he gets fired he'll be eligible for unemployment. Doesn't that make you feel better?
No one is suppose to be able to fire their employees for self isolating.
But then, rules are changing with every increase in the stimulus, so, don't go by my word.

I think after this stimulus goes through and they start things up again you will see the private sector economy go through the roof and the public sector will falter as they will be reinfecting each other when they go back to work. A continuos cycle bringing the private sector and medical communities continuos profit.
