In a letter recusing himself from the case, which was viewed by the Journal-Constitution, Barnhill wrote that his son and McMichael "both helped with the previous prosecution of (Ahmaud) Arbery."

When he was in high school, Arbery was sentenced to five years probation on a weapons charge, the paper reported.

Greg McMichael's affiliation with Arbery was not mentioned in the Glynn County Police report from the day of the shooting.

https://int.nyt.com/data/documenthelper/...d/full.pdf

On the scene, McMichael told police he recognized Arbery from a surveillance video that captured a recent burglary in his neighborhood.

"On the scene, McMichael told police he recognized Arbery from a surveillance video that captured a recent burglary in his neighborhood".

FFS! If he actually did recognize Aebery in the video he would have called the police then and there and they could have identified Albery from their records as the guy in the surveillance video and paid him a visit .

McMichael already knew who Arbery was from when he investigated him while he was in high school for an eventual weapons charge.

So we're to believe that McMichael didn't know what Arbery looked like after having investigated him a few years earlier and he saw a house robber in a video and still didn't recognize the guy as Arbery but saw a guy jogging and just knew he was the burglar in the video...

Intersing facts are coming to light now

Gregory McMichael worked in local law enforcement for over 30 years and previously investigated Ahmaud Arbery

After the shooting, Gregory McMichaels' former boss, Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jackie Johnson, recused herself from the case. Waycross Judicial Circuit County's DA George Barnhill, took over but stepped aside a month later at the request of Arbery's family. Barnhill's son works as a prosecutor in Johnson's office.

In Barnhill's letter recusing himself, https://int.nyt.com/data/documenthelper/...d/full.pdf however, he wrote in detail about why he didn't believe Gregory McMichael and his son should be charged with a crime. In it, he said that Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael, and William Bryan — who filmed the video — were following Arbery in "hot pursuit" because he was a "burglary suspect."

"It appears their intent was to stop and hold this criminal suspect until law enforcement arrived," Barnhill said. "Under Georgia law, this is perfectly legal."

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Thursday that Barnhill's son, a prosecutor in the Brunswick DA's office, and McMichael, previously worked together on a case involving Arbery.

No I haven't. I am wonder what they were.

He Has A Right To Be on Public Property With out
the Fear of ARMED Men That Are Not Police Trying to Stop Him.

Even If The Jogger Just Robbed a HOUSE.
They Did not Catch Him In the Act.

No Matter How you look at it, It Is Murder Pure and Simple.
They Took their Guns, Stalked, Then Confronted, Then Killed the
jogger when he attempted to defend himself from people stalking
him and confronting him armed with guns.

The Jogger Died As A Result Of Defending Himself against Vigilantes
who Targeted an Innocent Man.

He wasn't attacked so you are not being honest to describe his actions as "defend himself".
All he needed to do was engage his brain and his mouth instead of his fists and he would not be dead.

If I'm surrounded, out of the blue, by multiple armed men with weapons drawn, what I would do is fire first as that is a threat to my life. But I'm white, I'm allowed to jog in public.

So you will take a situation with the potential for violence and be the one to initiate violence.
When you die as well I will tell your corpse, "I told you so".

And being white you can get away with being out jogging in a T-shirt and shorts...not so for Arbery

I read he brought a hand gun to school.

If so he certainly wouldn't be the first stupid kid to do so.
Thankfully no one as hurt or that would have been all over the news from the get-go.

If you're willing to take being hunted, surrounded and detained by three armed men for no reason with calm equanimity, you do you booboo. I'm not.

Hunted?
Do you take every time someone asks you to "wait" or "stop" as being hunted?

Perhaps you have no faith in your own good sense or the humanity of your fellow man but that sounds like your problem.
I have been confronted by an armed individual and by simply talking to them we both walked away unharmed. In your world one of you would need to die.
I prefer mine.

All he needed to do was engage his brain and his mouth instead of his fists and he would not be dead.
The Minute The Father Son & Camera Man Picked up their GUNS
and Started Stalking The Man By Being ARMED and Following Him
The Attack Started.

The Attack Further Escalated When The Father, Son, CameraMan
attempted To FORCE Him At Gun Point To Stop.

See at that point he felt he had no choice but to fight his way out.
Armed Men Just Stalked Him Down and Were in the Process Of Attempting
to Stop him. He New Beyond any Doubt these ARMED Men had Targeted Him.

If A LION Had Targeted You, Stalked You, Then Attempted to Stop You.
You Would FIGHT For Your LIFE, As You Would Have No Choice.
And So To Did the Jogger Fight For His Life when he was being attacked
by PREDATORS That Were Stalking Him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For Instance.
See If the Jogger Had a GUN, And He Had Shot the Son when He saw the GUN.
Then Shot the Father When He pulled His. This Would Be a Clean Shoot.
Just Like a Show Down, You Pull Your Gun First, You Get Shot. But the
Jogger Didn't have a gun to pull.
