I have no idea if it is true, but heard in ww2 some of the POW's or concentration camp people got ill from stout meals for awhile after getting out of that mess.

So I take it you just ate a little bit over 20 days? How'd you feel overall while doing this?

i had nothing but water.
some days were just fine, some were terrible.
lol.

i began to reintroduce food with things like tomato juice, for awhile.

eta: i wouldnt do it again. not for that long anyway.

Holy Moly.

Yeah that's hardcore.

It doesn't sound pleasant at all. I'd assume all the days were bad after awhile.

The longest I've gone is 3 days in a row, I think. 3 or 4.

I did 3 days a week monday/wednesday/friday for a long time and that helped me lose weight. I'm having a hard time doing it now because I feel stressed out from the shutdown. So I've been gaining the weight back.

That's kind of close to what I'm thinking about doing. Besides the weight loss, how did you feel?

And mental impact?

I suppose I felt better with less weight, sure. I ate vegetarian on tuesday and thursday (stuff like cheerios and almond milk) and then I ate whatever I wanted on weekends. It seemed to work for me.

The hard part was getting through Monday. If I could fast on Monday then it was easier to fast the rest of the week.

If I don't fast on Monday then I usually end up ruining the rest of the week.

It's really hard to ignore those initial cravings coming off of a binge.

I often do an 18 hr fast. Eg, eat tea (evening meal) at 1800, then eat again following day at midday. Someone told me it helps prevent diabetes, no idea if that's true, but it feels good.

That's quite a bit of weight.

I wouldn't mind getting to 200 again. I'll never see my athlete weight of 158-185 depending on what I was doing again. But 200 would be nice.

Supposedly beetus can be somewhat reversed or eliminated according to my doctor in some cases. I have meds for it but don't have to take insulin. I think it is one of the reasons I get so tired usually after I eat.

There was a video I think SS posted a couple of years ago here. Was a guy completely living on his own in the Yukon area if I recall correctly. Built a cabin, was completely self sufficient.

Looks pretty neat.

I assume it got lonely at times, just mentioning it as I found it entertaining and thought you may enjoy it.

I don't recall the name of the video though.

Now that We have Internet and a ShitTon of Movies and Video on this subject,
I have watched many of these. Its Much harder than it looks!
You spend morning noon night looking for food.
Starvation is a very real thing.
----------------------------------------------------------
But to Successfully FAST, OP, You have to run all the supplies down in your living space.
Then only Buy the simple things/food you need to survive.

Most people keep to much food and the temptation is to great.

Temptation, Oh The Temptation, Our Greatest Challenge in Life!
Self Restraint, Can Be a Major Obstacle!

Yeah the views, starry nights, peace & serenity probably were exaggerated.

Seemed like it could do some mental wonders for a short time. But yeah, I'm sure it would involve a whole lot of misery and work too.
