So I'm thinking of starting this Monday.

I mentioned the thoughts for the day sequences earlier if anyone is curious, could change the format after some experimentation.

But if anyone else wants to try a version of this for themselves we can talk about the experience here if you'd like.

Have no idea how long it will last.

Intermittent fasting:
9 hours of eating and 15 hours of only water, daily.
Typically eating from 9 a.m. to 6p.m. then fast until the next day.

This is the same method Joe Rogan has been doing for a long time.

RE: Fasters! Hey do any of you guys fast, or did so in the past?
I Fast a few times a year for spiritual reasons. In most cases I find a four day fast suitable, with the fifth day of mostly broths and juices, then introducing solid food back on the 6th day

I am older now and health issues prevent me from stressing my body out as much as I did in the past. Now days I usually allow myself water during the fast, but years ago when I was younger no water until the morning of the 4th day

A week of prayer and fasting 'crying for a vision' can be helpful to any spiritual journey.

Oh I'm definitely going to have my coffee. The thing about the hourly fasting I think would be hard is still eating a lot of food.

I'm not sure that format would work for me.

I was hoping someone who does this for faith based reasons would chime in. Part of the reason for me pondering this is definitely psychological.

How was the mind during this?

Did you notice any changes in functioning?

It's very good for the body to fast once a week...not eating for a full 24 hours. Eating during the day and then not after 6:00 pm is not fasting.

When I fast, I try to think about God more and meditate. Fasting helps with meditation because the body isn't using up a lot of energy with digestion.

Supposedly, you live longer if you fast. Drink only water or water with fresh lemon juice.

I'm hoping this will become a quasi sort of discipline, which I need. Then carry over into other things in life like creativity, daily task maintenance etc.

Like a you can do it thing.

And I believe lots of water and occasional fasting may indeed improve the lifespan.

When I was like 20, a friend talked me into joining him on a month long fruit juice fast. He convinced me that it would clean out my system, and get all the impurities out of my body. After a week, I decided I didn't mind all the impurities in my system

But he made it, one month

What would be the purpose of fasting?
Enlightenment?
Self Improvement?
Save Money On Grocery Bill?
Eat Better, Healthier Diet?
Weight Loss?
All Or the Above.
