tamarack, awesome and thank you.

Cowboy Gospel - of course! I just LOVE this - reminds of Paul Harvey.

They say it isn't really accurate but who cares?

It's probably pretty close and those young soldiers were under a lot
of stress. They had a lot of confusion, fear, and loneliness for being just
young kids most of them.

Howcome you've never joined man?
I know everyone has a reason to not register, but you're here and post often enough.
Why not take the dive?

I assume you're talking to me?

Anyway I did consider it.
I was against the Vietnam war and nuclear arms race.
Vietnam had just ended a couple years before I graduated.
Back then people were often protesting wars.

I did serve in other ways though.

Haha, I meant the site my friend.
How would I know you didn't serve?
I never served in the military as well, so I
would never ask that of someone else.
Even bone spurs.

You have beautifully illustrated, tamarack, why you believe in the system and I don't. Making your own luck is the only way there is if you don't find one ready-made. No special beef with any given group of boot-stompers, it's just never worked for me.

Oh, then the card you have drawn is the Joker.
It can be whatever the player wishes.

Funny how Mr Trump seems to make his own luck too.
I would think Lakeofmarch would see that and at least tip his hat to him,
being of a like mind.

Of course.
I was referring to making one's own luck and so on.

RE: Tex Ritter Deck of Cards
Good golly, no, I'm not from Michoacan, that place is a mess. And I don't particularly like Drumpf, but he does illustrate quite fully that tricksters abuse people of good faith every day of the week and three times on Sundays, and, also, that Power is one of those games you can hardly ever win. Wonder if the thread is now about soldiers, schools of magic, or playing cards at all, or could easily be made into something more.

Thanks for this, SS! I've been a fan of Tex Ritter since I was a child, but I've never before heard this song.
