FEC commissioner to Trump: 'No. You don't have the power to move the election'

"Federal Elections Commission (FEC) Commissioner Ellen Weintraub flatly stated on Thursday that the executive branch does not have the power to delay a presidential election after President Trump stirred an uproar by raising the idea in an early morning tweet.

No, Mr. President. No, Weintraub said in a statement shared on Twitter. "You don't have the power to move the election. Nor should it be moved."

"States and localities are asking you and Congress for funds so they can properly run the safe and secure elections all Americans want," she added. "Why don't you work on that?"

Raises the idea is not suggesting that he can change the election date.
Over reacting to a question that TDS people see as a statement again.

RE: BIG 100 Day Countdown to Trump's complete political defeat - BLUE WAVE UPDATES:
The US is killing it. Scream1

Americans Increasingly Believe U.S. Is Handling Coronavirus Worse Than Other Nations
In a new HuffPost/YouGov poll, just 19% say the country is doing better than most.

"Americans take an increasingly negative view of how their country’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic compares with the rest of the world, a new HuffPost/YouGov survey finds.

A 46% plurality of the public now says the U.S. is handling the outbreak worse than other countries, with 24% saying it’s handling the outbreak as well as other countries and just 19% saying it’s doing better than most.

The results reflect a continuing decline in confidence over the course of this year. A March poll found that just 28% of Americans thought the U.S. was handling the outbreak worse than other countries, while a May survey put that figure at 36%.

Views of the country’s relative performance are shapely divided along partisan lines, although dissatisfaction has risen on both sides of the aisle. A 71% majority of Democrats say the U.S. is doing especially poorly in its fight against the pandemic, up from 49% who said the same in March. Among Republicans, 19% share that judgment, up from just 2% in March.

Some 38% of Republicans and just 8% of Democrats currently think the U.S. is faring better than most other countries. In March, 12% of Democrats and 62% of Republicans thought the U.S. stood out positively."

Wow,.... this says so much about the loser -one termer. chuckle

Mitch McConnell gives GOP candidates permission to dump Trump

"With Donald Trump sinking ever lower in the polls and odds-makers increasingly favoring Democrats to flip the Senate in November, the polls on the first day of August show Democrats likely to emerge in the Fall with complete control of Capitol Hill. It’s enough to have Mitch McConnell sweating about his status as a future minority leader, if not future former senator. With that in mind, CNN reports that McConnell has given Republican Senate candidates permission to distance themselves from Trump, particularly on his mass-murder approach to the coronavirus and Trump’s continued claims that it’s safe for children to return to school.

The problem for Republicans looking to separate themselves from Trump is … they can’t. By now, every single candidate up for election in House or Senate who carries a GOP label has signed on to Trump’s most outrageous claims repeatedly. McConnell may have authorized them to show “flexibility” and “independence,” but neither of those qualities have on display in the least over the last three years. Instead, even Republicans who went into the Trump era after disparaging Trump the candidate have been utterly subservient to his every random whim. They’ve backed Trump on his destruction of vital alliances, backed Trump in his racism and xenophobia, backed Trump on an endless array of unsupported conspiracy theories. And in January, they underscored their support for Trump by signing the ultimate loyalty pledge when Republicans in both House and Senate refused to remove Trump from office despite overwhelming evidence of his guilt."

Are you going to shake your fists and scream at the sky when Trump wins a second term?

People who have never voted in their lives will vote this time. No one wants a senile, dementia ridden Joe Biden with any buttons more powerful than a remote for the TV.

As if Trump wasn't another demented old schmuck

That was 3 years ago with Hillary too.
Your sources may say he is hated but the number of people showing up at his rallies vs all the dems combined say different.
Polls can be manipulated much easier than attendance numbers.

There was no blue wave.

In the 2018 mid term elections Trump did better than average and much better than the last 2 democrats. Hell Trump did better than most recent Republican presidents.

There's not gonna be a blue wave in 2020 either.

Reminds me of Hillary and how she was supposed to win.

Here's your blue wave, IT NEVER HAPPENED!
And it won't happen this time either.

Why the President's Party Loses Seats in Midterm Elections

Some people seem to think that Donald Trump lost a lot of seats in his first midterm.
The average is higher and Obama lost a lot more. No one screamed red wave when Obama did so bad, they blamed it on racism. Problem in other recent democrats did worse that Trump too.

In other words, there was no blue wave. It was just a ripple, smaller then for other recent midterms.

Quote:Modern midterm election results include:

In 2018, Republicans lost 39 seats—41 in the House while gaining two in the Senate—two years after the election of Republican President Donald Trump. With Trump as president, Republicans held both houses of Congress and the White House, and Democrats hoped to elect enough members of Congress to thwart their agenda. They managed only to secure the House.

In 2010, Democrats lost 69 seats—63 in the House and six in the Senate—while Democratic President Barack Obama was in the White House. Obama, who signed an overhaul of the nation's health care system that was deeply unpopular among Tea Party Republicans, later described the midterm results as a "shellacking."

In 2006, Republicans lost 36 seats—30 in the House and six in the Senate—while Republican President George W. Bush was in office. Voters had grown weary of the war in Iraq and took it out on Bush, one of only three presidents whose party has picked up seats in midterms since World War II. Bush called the 2006 midterms a "thumpin.'"

In 1994, Democrats lost 60 seats—52 in the House and eight in the Senate—while Democrat Bill Clinton was in office and the opposing party, led by conservative firebrand Newt Gingrich, orchestrated a successful "Republican Revolution" in Congress with its "Contract With America."

In 1974, Republicans lost 53 seats—48 in the House and five in the Senate—while Republican President
Gerald Ford was in office. The election was held just months after President Richard M. Nixon resigned from the White House in disgrace amid the Watergate scandal.

In the last few elections, at least, Democrats tend to do far worse than Republicans.

NO BLUE WAVE!

if you see one in these numbers, you may need to have your meds adjusted.

OP I'm amazed at your fortitude against an incoming inevitable ideological failure and moment of clarity where you realize that there is no one left echoing your sad echos.

I'm quite curious how far and how long you will continue to defend and propagate for the traitors and pedos.
