Who's Harvesting Vegetables?

My tomatoes are ripening nicely. This is my 3rd pick of the season, and I got 5 gallons
My hands get covered with a yellow dust (pollen?) when I pick tomatoes.

When I pick hot peppers, I can feel the capsicum on my hands, and I can't pet the cats out there until I wash my hands.

Some okra plants are bearing pods heavily, others look spindly and worn out.

Planted my tomatoes late.

Some have quite a few tomatoes for so early on, others naked but flowered.

Here in Hawaii I get fresh corn year around. But my higher elevation does mean tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and okra are half year only. I do get green onions and garlic chives year around, and avocados. But to be honest I never grew gardens here that equaled those I grew in California's central valley.

You've got a lot of iron in the soil right?

Was always curious about how a few things there grew.

Great gardening weather here in Sacramento, if you can sustain the heat waves.

Weird last year tomatoes didn't do too much, but the years before were fantastic.

Some good local sweet corn in the area here.

I live in the San Joaquin Valley. We have great soil and hot weather.

My tomatoes are ripening in manageable stages. I can pick every 4-5 days, and not get too overwhelmed. I may get my goal of 60 quarts of canned tomatoes this season.

There is. Lakeside garden in oakland has a communal garden that serves locals and the food bank.

Excellent.

We've got 10 plants, Early girls, 2 types of cherry. 2 of the cherry are sweeter, 2 just a regular cherry.

Pops here will use the sweeter ones for spaghetti sauce, or for salads.

The others for salsa, blt's, etc.

We'll see how it goes. We won't can though. Maybe jar made salsa like we did with pickles last year. Not sure how long it will be safe jarred.
