RE: explain christianity to me please
For me what its like is I prayed the sinners prayer but didn't get saved until fifteen years later. So when I got saved all I wanted to do was read the bible and christian books and listen to radio preachers which was driving my wife nuts.

So I went to a church and it was cool. But it was like I was getting a PhD in the bible. I knew so many scriptures no one could stand to be around me. because I was always quoting scriptures.

So now I realize that Jesus is in charge. Not a whole lot I can do. Occasionally some truth will pop in my mind but I don't read the bible anymore. I should like an hour a day.

why must i beleive in jesus

To exist in this physical realm you don't need to believe in Jesus. But, if you want to be with God for eternity, then you must believe in His sacrifice for you.

I'll try to make it simple. God created Adam and Eve in His image, that means they had a conscience. Once they activated that conscience to know the difference between right and wrong they became gods, before they were one with the Almighty God.

This sin (God commanded them not to eat from the tree of knowledge) separated them from God, broke the connection if you will. This is a permanent state, forever. God said once you eat from the tree you will die, they didn't die immediately but they did die in time. They died in their sins. Meaning they were separated from God by their sins.

God didn't like this situation, so He interceded in time and space on our behalf by becoming human like us, so He could take upon Himself the punishment that we deserved (separation from God). He was crucified on a cross and died, taking upon Himself the sins of all humanity from Adam to the last person born.

This means God died to the law which He had originally ordained, creating a new opportunity for eternity future with Him, this is called the Kingdom of God.

Amazingly, all that is required is belief in Christ, that He existed, that He was who He said He was (the Son of God) and that His death and atonement was sufficient to carry the totality of all sin of all time.

I think He took that sin to hell for 3 days and left it there, the sins of those who believed. People who reject the Gospel (good news) carry the burden of their sin (punishment or price) forever, meaning separation from God for eternity.

Made in God's image, the image of unconditional love and joy.

Garden of Eden is a metaphor for this part of reality we call Earth.

Adam is a metaphor for all male humans.

Eve is a metaphor for all female humans.

The snake, and Eve and Adam choosing to take the apple, are metaphors for God blessing us with free will and duality.

Heaven is our mind in a peaceful and joyous state from making choices that aligns with our true nature of unconditional love.

Hell is our mind in a chaotic, stressful, and unsettle state from making choices that do not align with our true nature of unconditional love.

Nothing will bring more joy to God than seeing us grow up into maturity with higher wisdom, able to learn from our poor choices and not repeat them ever again.

To expect a higher spiritual figure to shoulder all the consequences of our poor choices is much like young children expecting their Mommy and Daddy fixing the mess they created. It is a sign of immaturity that greatly hinders our spiritual evolution.

We have been blessed with free will and duality to experience all, learn, and gain greater wisdom and maturity as part of the ongoing test of dualistic energies being conducted here. Being stubborn creatures, we are often comfortable in our ways and lack motivation to change even when knowing those ways are not the best for us. Understandably, the better choices are rarely the easy choices, especially when we are equipped on purpose with a strong ego survival mind designed to embrace greed, selfishness, envy, and superiority. Hence divine or high consciousness messengers would often come in in human form to patiently teach us an alternative way of living that aligns more with love and joy.

What an amazing adventure we willingly signed up for with great passion: We the aware coming in to be temporary unaware on purpose while in human form, then through a long process of free will exploration and maturation uncover who we truly are and become our true divine nature that is unconditional love and joy.

God/Higher Self/Creative Source/Prime Creator is a benevolent confluence of intelligent multi-dimensional energies of pure unconditional love and joy. Our true nature is unconditional love and joy, not the false nature projected by the ego mind. Connect the dots only if you wish to do so.

We are magnificent beings not born sinners and not born to suffer.

The temple of God is within us ... while our corporeal bodies have an expiration date as designed, the soul and consciousness is eternal.

All the best!

That was actually foreshadowing of what God would do in the Person of Christ. God knows all things, He exists outside of time and space. When He created Adam and Eve He knew they would sin, fall.

So He offers that prophetic passage which means we become part of God, the Family of God for eternity future. That is the 'our' part of that passage.

More formal or conservative views would be that was God speaking in the Trinity. But because I don't see the Trinity existing in the future only the past, the fourth(?) part of the Godhead is the Body of Christ.

That's how you rationalize that awkward bit, I know.

But it gets worse:

Gen. 3:22, “Then the Lord God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest he stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.'”

Gen. 11:7, “Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

Ex. 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me"

That last one is really interesting.

Why would the supposed creator of the universe be so insecure about the other gods?

Someone answered earlier, Gen 11:7 is a reference to the Trinity (formal interpretation) and Ex. 20:3 is for your own good.

All of God's commandments are for your own good. It is best to recognize the Creator God as the Supreme God and who has become flesh, Christ, in order to redeem us from our sin.

What is good in this context, is doing those things that benefit you in the future or vice versa not doing those things that cause harm.

The general principle here is you sow and you reap. If you sow to the flesh you reap corruption from the flesh. If you sow to the Spirit you reap rewards from the Spirit, I think that's maturity.
