We have nothing like that now.

We have a croney economy & a croney government, bot of whom bed down together. Companies pay for the laws they want, politicians get rich making laws to tsuit them and their croney corporations.

I meant real capitalism, where companies stand or fall on their own work and viability, no government subsidies or avoiding tax. No bailouts from our tax.

Socialist government, using our tax to help society, not big business.

If big business wasn't shored up by our taxes, there would be more small businesses, as corps wouldn't be able to sustain themselves without gov welfare. Smaller businesses would fill any ctreated space pretty quickly. The MDs may not be on a CEO's millions, but neother would they need to claim welfare because some corporation put them out of businesses, then pays them a pittance to do a tedious job.

And I said that you'd get the worst of both if it were ever attempted, because when people in government have power, they don't do the right things. They take bribes. The corporations have the money to bribe them, poor people don't.

What you say sounds great, but it's a complete fairytale.

That's why I said capitalism doesn't exist as soon as government exists.

We have the worst of socialism and capitalism now, which resembles fascism.

is sociallism and capitalism fusion called mixed economy or is that something else?

It's an unfair, illogical and inefficient form of rationing.

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

You're conflating your belief that it wouldn't happen, with the concept put forward. They're two different things.

We have neither socialism nor capitalism right now. If your belief that there's only one possible way of arranging society, were true, we may as well nuke the entire planet now.

It's a weakness of human beings that they're unable to imagine anything being possible, if they have not previously experienced it. That's a massively limiting belief and handicaps progress.

It doesn't matter. All economies are controlled by governments to skew them in favor of the people paying the most bribes.

I'd rather have a chance, to take the hardest path to the top of the mountain....and most likely fail, than be guaranteed something lesser with no chance of ever seeing the top.

Capitalism - Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCcEVLe-Ytw

The dangers of Capitalism which is evident in today's society. Shaykh speaks about this and highlights the different areas.

I'm only going to respond to the title, as I have had a view about this for some time.

Capitalism, is near its end. What replaces it is anyone's guess. Perhaps nothing will.

I'm here to chew bubble gum. So you better give me some.

You know what else is possible? Living in a society without government ruling over everyone. No one seems to imagine that being possible because it doesn't exist anywhere on earth and almost never has.

No ism form of government ever exists as it is designed in a textbook definition. They're all just tools for the elite to control everything and steal all the money. And I believe this because government has existed for tens of thousands of years and it has always been that way.

RE: What are your views on Capitalism?
If you have not read (in it's complete boredom) the "wealth of nations" by Adam Smith...you have no business offering political/economic theory....

Adam Smith may well have been one of the smartest men of his time.

if you do not understand a theory laid down nearly 300 years ago...then you are the stupid one...not the theory

I didn't realize your pole smoking fagdom extended into financial theory....

Now we know...

Adam Smith....."the wealth of nations" if you want a terribly boring read that explains our financial system perfectly.
