"Human" right? Don't cats and dogs and jellyfish need clean water as well?

It is a fine thing to be honest, but it is also very important to be right. - Winston Churchill

It is an evident truth that, whatever may be the rate of increase in the means of subsistence, the increase of population must be limited by it

To act consistently therefore, we should facilitate, instead of foolishly and vainly endeavouring to impede, the operations of nature in producing this mortality;

Instead of recommending cleanliness to the poor, we should encourage contrary habits. In our towns we should make the streets narrower, crowd more people into the houses, and court the return of the plague.

In the country, we should build our villages near stagnant pools, and particularly encourage settlements in all marshy and unwholesome situations.

But above all, we should reprobate specific remedies for ravaging diseases; and those benevolent, but much mistaken men, who have thought they were doing a service to mankind by projecting schemes for the total extirpation of particular disorders.

-Thomas Malthus, economist

It is one’s personal responsibility to insure their water is potable, or drink dirty water

RE: Do you think clean drinking water is human right?
In 2017, 71% of the global population (5.3 billion people) used a safely managed drinking-water service – that is, one located on premises, available when needed, and free from contamination.
90% of the global population (6.8 billion people) used at least a basic service. A basic service is an improved drinking-water source within a round trip of 30 minutes to collect water.
785 million people lack even a basic drinking-water service, including 144 million people who are dependent on surface water.
Globally, at least 2 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with faeces.
Contaminated water can transmit diseases such diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio. Contaminated drinking water is estimated to cause 485 000 diarrhoeal deaths each year.
By 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas.
In least developed countries, 22% of health care facilities have no water service, 21% no sanitation service, and 22% no waste management service.

Can you imagine hauling water 5 miles a day? By hand?

Takes forever.

Last couple years I used library internet.

Just doing that was a pain in the scrotum.

RE: Do you think clean drinking water is human right?
Most of what is considered "clean water" is still not ready for safe consumption.Whos standards must be met for this "clean water" to be certified clean? Does that include chlorine and fluoride poisoned water? Some think that is "clean water". Who guarantees these "basic human rights" once they've been established? Are you going to fund the "basic human right of clean water" once the questions are answered? I'm not.

Better question. Do landowners have a right to dig a water well on their own property? Often not, and that's scarier than anything you can say about the feds taking someone else's money, land, and water because their sh!t is your basic human right.
