This guy brings some reality to the table:

The GOP pushing of armed fuckwits into state legislatures, and the constant bombardment with imagery containing armed racists in military gear, was done intentionally, to serve one purpose.

To numb you to it, so traitors could sieze your government with minimal public outcry.

Elected Rs used our news and social media against us, to collectively desensitize the entire nation, so that they could further victimize us.
To create a situation where they could victimize us forever.

Crisis and spectacle, culminating in insurrection and murder.

Love your Republican neighbor, treat them with kindness and respect. They are propagandized, and have been subjected to a brutal years-long disinformation campaign that has rendered them immune to fact.
The antifa boogeyman, and the BLM chupacabra haunt them.

They fear gay people, they fear trans people, they fear government involvement in all things. They fear equality, while simultaneously mostly wanting it, but not for anyone else. They think universal healthcare is a communist plot to enslave them.
They fear vaccines.

They actually fear your religion, or, your lack of religion, because they have been raised from small children to believe that allowing "your" religion or lack of it, will bring God's judgment upon the country. That your actions would bring a collective sentence for all.

They were preconditioned to be afraid of us, while we were laughing off the preconditioning as the ramblings of insane Republican politicians and hillbilly preachers.

Let's be serious.
No bullshit.
Dems mostly ignored right wing propaganda and open hate speech for 40 years.

By Obama's second term, [email protected] and cohorts had spun the rubes into such a racist tizzy, that Obama (I believe understandably) thought it best to avoid matters of race for fear of amplification.
He didn't want to spin them up and make it worse.
And he didn't have a crystal ball.

Unfortunately it didn't work.
The continuous hate that our fellow citizens have been subjected to has rendered them occupants of a different reality.

Consider the crisis and spectacle that we have been subjected to for the last four years, and the effect it's had on you.

Now imagine the effect it would have had, if you and everyone you know, had been subjected to it since approximately 2012 with the rise of the tea party.
If they just piped it into the churches, the TV, the radio, and served it to you on Facebook and YouTube.

How would that affect you?
Would you still have a firm grasp on reality?

As someone that's endured it, and actively questioned his own sanity as everyone around him assured him that he was not "actually" seeing what he was seeing, I promise.
You can't know without living it.

Let's talk about the big lie for a second. It'll be easy.
Because it's bullshit.

When you see these polls claiming Republicans believe the election was stolen by a large margin, I assure you, most know better.
It's bullshit.

I know because I confront these people about it.

If you have some rapport with them, and some history, so you know the situation won't devolve to violence...you can confront the big lie with "oh come the f*#k on Jerry! That's bullshit and you know it! Democrats stole the election all right, by goddamn voting!"

You get a smile. Or sometimes a giggle. And they'll often glance down.
They know that part's bullshit.
But it fits the rest of the persecutory narrative, so they breathe it in.

With one exception that I know of. Folks that watch [email protected]/religious programming.
They're lost.

But I'm still not pleading for mercy for those that engaged in insurrection or treason.
I cannot. They don't deserve it.
Even the lost, at some point were not.
They accepted the lies, and entered into a contract with them. They ate them with a spoon.

That's how obvious lies work.
You choose to believe them, because they fulfill some other need for you. And if you chose to believe them for long enough, and with enough fervor, they become true to you, and you are lost.

But they are still lies, and you still made the choice.

I'm asking you to demand justice from our elected leaders and law enforcement.
To demand that the guilty are subjected to the rule of law, and punished to the full extent of the law.
So that we might reclaim some of those that are not lost.
They need to see it, and so do we.

But mostly I'm asking you to remember, how the brutal disinformation that *you* have been subjected to has distorted your perception of time.
And how you've been trained to forget the last crisis, and to focus on the next.
And that January 6th 2021 is still right now.

To hold it, and not forgive it.
And to never forget it.
And to understand that in another week, or another month, or next year, January 6th will still be right now.
And that it must remain right now, until justice is done.

RE: Dems mostly ignored right wing propaganda and open hate speech for 40 years.
Well, Obama did not ignore race issues. He inflamed them by inserting his racial identification in situations where as a biracial leader of a diverse population, he should have remained above the fray.

Democrats have been, through inept leadership or callous disregard of consequences, willing accomplices to the rise and proliferation of right wing hate. Instead of focusing their message to basic issues of economic equality that concern the vast majority of Americans, they get sidetracked continually by sliver identity issues that are toxic to many populations that might otherwise vote on broad economic themes.

The issue of Gay marriage was one such issue. The civil rights and equal rights concerns about these subgroups could have been moved forward and secured with out falling on a sword by embracing the most extreme forms of the advocacy. Marriage was a concept that had existed with a pretty clear basic formula for countless generations and had firm origins within a religious ideological subtext. People could have been guaranteed equal access to the legal rights of forming civil unions without trampling on the sensibilities of millions by taking a term with clear meaning and turning it upside down at least within their strong traditional mental frames.

Some battles are worth fighting and some such virtue signaling is just counter-productive and they know it.

The issue of trans gender rights is another one. The rights of such individuals can and should be secured and respected without upending society by forcing everyone to conform to some brand of newthink that just inflames rage and opposition. If someone wants to call themselves a woman or whatever, despite plenty of evidence that they are not, they should not be harmed or discriminated against but there has to be some basic respect for people to hold some basic consistent and rational beliefs about things like this, without the thought police going into histrionics over words or less than ideologically pure neoprogressive orthodoxy.

RE: Dems mostly ignored right wing propaganda and open hate speech for 40 years.
Part of what enabled a reactionary movement like national socialism to take hold in Germany was what was perceived to be the excesses of social movements that veered drastically from traditional mores in society. Then, like now, that was combined with a deteriorating economic situation leading to a rise of right wing populism. The right wing of america is well aware of the dynamics that make fertile ground for their movements. It is part of why they fund opposition and fringe civil rights groups like BLM and others in order to infuriate the masses of traditionally minded people that like it or not form a very large proportion of the electorate outside of the coasts.

Just in case you are referring to me, I don't think I am those things. I am a political realist and have studied history a lot. There are some fairly obvious patterns of social control and manipulation that seem to be in play that have deep roots and usually lead to catastrophe if not consciously and systematically countered. The democratic party has not been an effective opposition to the rise of the extremist right wing. In many ways they do the bidding of the right and in others they defend positions that benefit very small special interest groups while antagonizing huge voting blocs in the process. Such moves can only be viewed as counter to progress as the reactions provoked often lead not only to retreat but even greater amounts of lost ground.

Because Democrats weren't always regressive collectivist authoritarians.
They used to actually be liberal and were disgusted by the attempts to restrict freedoms (like speech).
Now they're sh*t stain wastes of oxygen like yourself who only want conformity and obedience.

Yep, but today's liberal is ignorant to history. I just don't get why so many people tripping over themselves to endorse the official word from a compromised media, and corrupt career politicians. I think in their simplemindedness they believe if they can jump on the bandwagon with what is advertised as the new or futuristic way of thinking that they gain some kind of superior feeling. It's as if they do not even stop to think about what is being said and if it matches reality. Hear and post it as fast as you can and hope others think you are smart...when in fact those of us that are capable of critical thinking and do understand history, see these ideas on par with those who think eating tide pods is not harmful.

Today's "liberal" are usually illiberal.
You've allowed the left to ruin what liberalism is in your mind.
Liberalism is still the moral and political philosophy America was founded upon. The left simply abandoned liberalism and became authoritarian collectivists while maintaining the label.

The left wants liberalism to die and making the common man hate the word is a very good first step.
Don't equate liberals or liberalism with the modern left. Unless you want to allow them to change the meaning of words on you and turn you against the founding political philosophy they need to destroy to own you.

You make a good point and I am not even sure what to call this latest movement. It defies logic on so many accounts. Maybe tide-o-crats, or TidePodders, or just Podders.

Totalitarians.
There are many different brands but the basic structure is the same.
Defying logic and denying objective reality are key foundational elements of totalitarianism.
They deny you the ability to know truth and then make you need them to tell you what it is.
The 2+2= 3 or 4 or 5 or whatever the party needs it to be scene from 1984 is a good example of this.
The truth becomes whatever they say it is and your place is simply to believe and obey.

And no they weren't ignored.
