Very relevant, thanks. Seems tropical, high-altitude, and short supply lines is the way to be today.

Your only fear should be to stray from the Great Way.

Global warming disturbs this mechanism: Increased rainfall and enhanced melting of the Greenland Ice Sheet add fresh water to the surface ocean. This reduces the salinity and thus the density of the water, inhibiting the sinking and thus weakening the flow of the AMOC.

I don't think so.

Water is still 40F above the Arctic Circle and close to that North of
Svalbard.

If it were shutting down that temp would be way cooler and we wouldn't
have had a recent big drop in sea ice extent.

Sea ice would be growing, not shrinking.

I would not consider the following a valid statement.
It demonstrates the AGW political bias of the people who funded the piece. Have you heard, they want to switch over to electric vehicles.
Pretty convenient timing to make these claims.

""If we continue to drive global warming, the Gulf Stream System will weaken further -- by 34 to 45 percent by 2100 according to the latest generation of climate models," concludes Rahmstorf. This could bring us dangerously close to the tipping point at which the flow becomes unstable."

Not a good sign, this means the gulf stream will be cooling.
Which is a game changer.
