What is that, in the least, that is underpinning your anger? I sense it is strong in this one, yet subtle.

RE: An excellent video documentary about my favorite game Stalker
I've never played STALKER but that documentary is interesting.

I would be more interested in playing the prototype that they scrapped instead of the retail copy. I want to see a game where NPC's can complete objectives and even beat the game before the player can.

I love open world games where NPC go about their daily lives. Elder Scrolls has a primitive form of this type of thing, but they can't complete their own missions.

Actually when I first heard about Skyrim I was told that NPC's would be completely expendable, and for instance if you killed a store merchant, a different NPC would become a merchant for that store and might love or hate you based on their relationship with the previous merchant.

Unfortunately we got a Skyrim with invulnerable NPC's and not everyone is expendable - if you kill a merchant that's it for the store.

That's what hype does for games though. Same thing for Battlefield Bad Company. It was advertised by DICE as having completely destructible environments. Then when I get the game, my what? 10-20 ton tank can't run over telephone poles because they're invulnerable. That's a joyride killer right there. I'm jumping in a tank for the first time, imagining the destruction I can wreak on this game where I can destroy everything, and a telephone pole stops me dead.

Bad Company was the pinnacle example of an over-hyped game for me right up until I played No Man's Sky.

Glad that you enjoy the video and you should give Stalker a try since you will have a blast with it.

I am currently playing Call of Chernobyl and it is a big mod where all the previous maps of the full Stalker series are assemble in one huge world to explore and it's massive and a lot of fun here a video:

I know what you mean about Skyrim since i was doing a lot of mod for it before they start the creation kit and here a list of these mods on a thread i made on Nexus about my new lantern mod :

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/...pt/page-11

You can make all NPC's kill-able even the kid's there is a mod just for that.

Regarding Battlefield and the indestructible poles as a developer i can tell you that having too many objects with destructible physique mechanic on them would put your frame rate to it's knee's so they have to use it sparingly and not on every object in the game.

Just give Stalker a chance and i guarantee you will get hooked in no time! By the way Stalker have one of the best ballistic physique for weapons handling!

For shooter i prefer first person since i hate the camera position even if i know how to change it it's still a weird angle to shoot.
