Just watched Dawson City: Frozen in Time on bluray and it was a great showing. It mentioned how Fred Trump got his start of the family fortune in that silent movie town that time mostly forgot because the nitrate films are so volatile in storing. But what a great eye-opener it was. It did not mention Drumpf btw. Worth a look.

Old miner town is why it depleted. Not just a silent movie town maker btw.

Here is a little more summarization regarding this film. It is really a gem for me.

It was the main city of the Yukon.
However the Alaska Highway does not go to it.
It has suffered ever since the Alaska Highway was built.

Whitehorse is now the Yukons largest city.

I hear there is 6,000 people. 3,000 born and raised, never leaving. 3,000 world travelers who chose Dawson.
Not a soul in town complaining about anything. Go south to bit*h

For occult-originated cities? I like to watch old movies showing how different the times may be. A trip down sanfrancisco market place street would be another good example. I love seeing that old black and white and rarely color films.
