Land is not cheap there, and you can't find anything over three acres.

Our climate is so localized that rainfall can vary 100% in just a few miles depending on elevation and proximity to trade winds. I am in Makawao on Maui, usually a wet place with an average rainfall of about 75 inches but I have had to water my garden today. The wind is from the East and the volcano Haleakala is in the way of the storm so I am dry.
