Free will seems to be a popular opinion, not fact.

Do we have control over our life?

A thread based upon a misunderstanding of the burden of proof.

If you claim it doesn't exist then it's your burden to prove.

Thanks for the correction!

I believe free will doesn't exist. For example, certain childhood experiences can lead to probable adult disorders, the likelihood that you ascribe to a religion based on geographic location, the fact that you can't just know and speak any language at will, these are all my proofs that free will does not exist.

Why this statistical outcome if free will indeed exists?

So you think that probability disproves free will.
You also think that you inability to achieve learning without effort disproves free will.

I don't think you have a clue

I would say you've demonstrated such a fundamental misunderstanding of reason, logic, and free will that any attempt to try and engage with you is a waste of time.

Free will isn't a collective trait.
It's an individual trait.
That you think the statistical aggregate representation of many individual decisions has any relevance to whether an individual has free will is exactly the sort of fundamental misunderstanding I am pointing to.

Well, statistics don't lie.

I think it's a complicated subject. I believe free will exists but not on our physical plane. The evidence is just so blatant that we are causal organisms perpetuating a series of reactions and ideas...not free acting agents.

You have the ball in your park. Now could you elaborate?

Individual trait...sounds interesting.

Each decision you make changes the outcome of the game and you can change the past by changing your decisions when you die in the game. You WILL die in this game and have to make some choices regarding your past decisions.

Every word you type is a choice.
Posting or not is a choice.

You would need to demonstrate the causal relationship between past events and how the dictate the words you use in your posts.
How events dictated by your posting.
How events dictate if you take a sh*t now or later.
How events dictate which gas station you choose.

If there is no free will contrary actions should never occur.
A human should never begin to act and then chose to not act

No, I don't
You have demonstrated a misunderstanding of the thing you are making a claim about

Unless you can show an ability to learn I have no reason to even try to engage with you.

The other has free will.

The awareness of being understood, sharing it, are you able to?

How do you arrive at an alternative conclusion about free will, without reality-based (objective) evidence?
