RE: Panic in Hawaii as Civil Defense accidentally issues alert for 'inbound ballistic
I'm a CT with the best of them, but….in this instance I'm not so sure. Because….

I live in NY, so a few years back decided to call Governor Cuomo's office to state my opinions (yeah, I know…). So, what do I hear? A bunch of yahoos in the background sounding like they're operating a zoo. This is the Governor's office, for pity's sake….

Dems hire the biggest idiots on the planet to work in govt. I found that out first hand. Why would Hawaii, a liberal state, be any different? What, you expected dedicated, educated civil servants to handle the warning systems?

In govt (and elsewhere) it's not what you know, it's who you know and who got you your patronage job. Doesn't matter whether you can do it well or care to do it at all.

All the idiots today have jobs, especially in govt.

Down Here in Far South Texas We Still have
an Old School Mechanical Analogue System
Of Air Raid Sirens

Some one calls the Fire Chief and he has a
RED BUTTON to Push that sets them all off at once!

Like ZERO Mistakes with the old 1950's systems!

No accident!
Even considering the normal everyday bafoonery that defines government, an "accident" such as this would never happen.
....
The writing is on the wall, can't ya read it?
Can't ya read your own writing?

It's not "bafoonery", it's "buffoonery". It comes from "buffoon", not from the non-existent word "bafoon".

I've had it, so sick of this epidemic of witless misspellers. Even the spellcheck on this site will give you a wiggly red line as a freakin' WARNING that you're a spelling doofus. Did you not notice it??! Crikey!!

Bloody hell; I'm done reading comments and, yes, coming here. People everywhere can't spell or use proper punctuation (if any at all). It's part of the decline of our society (yeah, that's right); if something takes any effort, people don't care. Lazy lot.

Evidently you failed your 1992 Clinton sponsored mandatory "Liberal Ebonics" home training system didn't you?

It's an easy word to misspell, especially since my computer doesn't f*cking understand the term, but I do, and you don't!

Bafoonery, and Bufoonery are two entirely different terms. Within the context of my statement, "Bafoonery" is applicable.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/buffoonery

It would seem (by definition) you are a Bafoon!

Some are suggesting that maybe it was shot down

Some unlikely what ifs: A missile launch was detected; a ICBM was launched and intercepted?

If NORAD was involved, some Minuteman ballistic missile silo doors would have been opened.

The alert shown on their TV said the alert was from the Pacific Command which is in Hawaii. It is tied into the missile tracking radars in Japan; also linked to the missile defense command at Ft. Greely, Alaska. 'Pushed the wrong button' seems to be a cover story.
