Still want to come up with a recipe for a dish called Flying Spaghetti Monster, but probably need to find a forum whose participants can distinguish between spoofs and legitimate content. And between fantasy and real life.

RE: I Need a New Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
Simple:

Lightly fry a clove of garlic in olive oil, add in fresh chopped tomatoes, fresh chopped basil, salt and pepper to taste.

More complex

Heat chopped onions, grated carrot, green and red peppers in olive oil, then add a clove of garlic. Fry some ground beef or chopped Italian sausage until brown if you want meat. Add in a can or jar of crushed tomatoes, along with some fresh. Add in oregano, marjoram, thyme, bay leaf, fennel seeds, ground pepper, salt, a little sugar to cut any acidity or bitterness. Simmer for a couple of hours, stir in one more clove of crushed garlic & skim excess fat before serving.

Try browning onion in oil with pepper and season with fresh finely chopped garlic and salt. And just that (in pasta).
It goes well with meats. Even pan fried fish. Adding just a sprinkle of sugar makes the onion hold together and not so droopy while browning it well. A dab of butter just to melt into it when done frying makes it really tasty.

Found a great article listing 22 natural laxatives. It's only a matter of time before I perfect the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Now I just have to line up some unsuspecting test subjects. I mean, dinner guests. Fettuccine alla Prunge? It could be a thing.

At the "More Complex" part, are you talking about bell peppers when you say "green and red peppers in olive oil"?

If you add butter later you make all the oil taste like butter.
Butter changes taste very easily during browning.

Chop onion(s), fry an high for 30 secs then turn down. Stir occasionally whilst browning gently. Add garlic. Add (large) tin of tomato puree, fry gently, if you have sweet red dessert wine, add some, if not, honey or sugar and dry wine, or a stock cube in hot water. Any herbs you like.
Throw in some olive oil. Cook some more while you make the pasta. Enjoy with parmesan. Heartflowers

Another way to add sweetness is with finely grated carrot. Oh yeah, and you have to add a couple of anchovies.

RE: I Need a New Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
I'm heavy handed with the spices.. .

2# Walmart chuck
2 eggs
Tbs each Parsley oregano basil dried chopped onions
Tsp each salt pepper Italian seasoning
Half cup of bread crumbs
Half a shaker of grated Parmesan

That's my meatballs

That will fit in a Dutch oven at about 1 3/4" did meatballs.

After I cook them I pull them out for a minute setting them a side
In the same pot I throw some chopped onions and a minute before they're cooked some grated garlic careful not to burn either onions or garlic

Throw meatballs back in..

Can each diced, puree, sauce

Spices like meatballs

Cover it up let it cook for a while.

Oh ..and a pinch of crushed red pepper.

Unscripted... Better have your mud flaps on.
