So why did he became so open to peace talks then?

Qaddafi happened before that.

My opinion, China's behind the whole thing. Before Kim decided to go for peace, he met with Pres. Xi of China. Kim had never traveled out of his country before that, and for all intents and purposes...it looked like a command performance. Xi probably read him the riot act and got Kim to agree to 'peace', with Xi getting something in exchange from Trump via the Trade Deals.

That's a plausible scenario. I picture something like "Hey, Kim, you go there and just do it. Got your back"

I do not label myself. What I stand for is based on my own convictions, and I don't care which box - the left one or the right one - they happen to belong to.

Because there was hope. Now there is none.

Now there is none because Trump went neocon.

"I am going to bring on the best and brightest from this great country" - Trump

Who knew that by "this great country" he meant Washington DC.
Who knew that by "the best and brightest" he meant unremarkable DC careerists?

Oh well. It was a good con. I will give him that.
