you should try it, they like to share their strength and calmness
Heartflowers

I can see your point, but I'm not really the hugging type. I think they appreciate a few words.

doesn't need to be a full hug
you can lean on it or touch it with your hand
but touch you should
the physical contact makes a difference
makes it much easier for the tree to absorb all your weariness and infuse you with strength

Yeah, sure I touch them, a kind of stroke or just a touch. I think they like it.

RE: Trees are Sentient Beings
Excellent article.

I would add to this based on my own studies that trees can hear. I believe they can hear ultrasound from an ocean a thousand miles away. Studies show they grow away from rock music but towards classical music played through speakers. Two Russian scientists believe they actually produce wind by placing moisture in the air (Makarova_Gorschov hypothesis). When the water vapor condenses it reduces air pressure drawing moisture from the ocean a thousand miles away in the Amazon.

They produce and suppress clouds by emitting isoterpenes thus controlling the sunlight. They create cirrus clouds from ice nucleating bacteria released from their leaves.

Some of my more wilder theories (cloud production is not a theory but scientifically proven) are that they may produce tornadoes and hurricanes. Why? Well hurricanes seem to be oriented at bringing seedstock into the jet stream to bring to arid areas in north Africa where hurricanes form off the coast. Also tornadoes may perform a similar function in bringing seeds over mountain ranges.

This weather control isn't just trees but seems a universal component of the plant kingdom. We know that phytoplankton emit sulfur compounds that form clouds over them probably to control ocean temperatures. Kelp do this as well but using iodine which is why they are rich in iodine.

My investigations also lead me to believe the plants are under stress from the teardown of the ozone layer. This is why all the trees are dying. This high stress state makes them susceptible to disease and parasites. Sudden Oak Death Syndrome may be a result.

It's the bacteria in the tree that's sentient. Same with you.. You work for your bacterial colonies. They are your soul motivation.
