Trees communicate with each other and can recognize their offspring.

They love the rain and the wind arouses them.

The old religions knew all this.

RE: Trees are Sentient Beings
i agree they each have a personality and are living sentient beings.
for sure.thats why people HUG them.
im one of those people.

my sister says the aura she usually sees around trees is what she likens to salt and pepper.
she sees a peppery aura around them.

Yup, practitioners of old religions knew everything was alive and had soul.

Tumbling, burning with white hot fire, I plunged into the depths of the abyss. Unspeakable pain, relentless agony, time ceased to exist.
Only this torture and a deepening hatred of the hypocrisy that damned me to this hell

I say hi to the ones that catch my attention and sometimes I hug them.

I never hug trees but I quite often say hello.

RE: Trees are Sentient Beings
true story, my grandfather was a sugarcane farmer in orlanda way back before it was a large city.
he was on the outskirts a ways and the story goes that he decided to do an experiment with two plots because he had heard something..

idk what he was growing in those plots (he grew all sorts of plants and had animals as well)
but they were the same type of plant and so one plot he chose to CURSE at.
he told it each day how he hated it and basically all this bad stuff.
he told the other plot how much he LOVED it and so forth...

and he found the plot that he had cursed failed to grow properly and became diseased.
the loved plot was beautiful and healthy and thriving.

so he found out for HIMSELF if speaking to your plants worked or not.
ive got that same drive as well, i like to experiment too....to see for myself.

I can see your point, but I'm not really the hugging type. I think they appreciate a few words.

Pretty much indisputable now the next question being to what degree? A corollary question is are we sentient enough to figure it out? chuckle
And then there are the questions that arise with the recognition of sentience like do they then have rights and to what degree?

Trees are sentient to the same degree as every other life form, including humans.
