We are seeing the first steps to a unified Korea folks.

Lil' Kim is as Westernized as they come. You know all of that purging he has been doing? I think he has been purging all the old guard that wont like the idea of the North opening up.

We dont really know, but something has changed.

Anyway, when Korea re-unites, who will lead? Will there be shared powers? Will the two states run separately under an overseeing "Federal" type government?

What are your thoughts on how the Koreas will reunite?

i cant imagine any of single countries ruling.
so I imagine multiple parties shared between with the creation of united korea.

how easily north koreans will split their votes dont know.
its also possible south koreans may change somewhat too.

Ideally the Un family would become a symbolic royal family like the British royals have become. The South Korean government would handle the daily politics of Unified Korea and the Uns would live in their palace, receive a royal income, and do appearances on TV. But wouldn't have any real political power anymore.

Kim seems too power-hungry for that though. He assassinated his own brother.

It seems like he will have to take some kind of deal to keep from getting put on trial for crimes against humanity.

Hopefully, it won't be done as a means to provolk the Dragon to Rise.

Kim will be happy if he looks good, otherwise not. Put his face on the money and give him a mansion with whatever food and drugs he wants. Give him sex slaves and keep him in the private sector. Seoul can handle everything else, and the people of DPRK will be happy.

It will probably begin with the merging of public services/infrastructure into districts.

Unification is a stretch. Neither leader is going to give up their power to the other. A good start would be simple free travel between the two countries. From there, they could build on their shared interests and grow from there. With Kim alive and in power, true unification is just a pipe dream.

RE: How will power be shared in a Unified Korea?
no no no, burgermeister .... chuckle

There will be no sharing of power. Lil' kim will open the door a crack for the real world to come in. He will do so thinking he's going to get a fast food restaurant or two. But ... the world will be like a flood, pushing that crack open to a wide abyss. The people of North Korea will find out what they've been missing. Coke in one hand, and Big Mac in the other .. all while wearing blue jeans and listening to angry Muse music .... Lil' Kims' days are numbered the minute he lets anything in over the border. The people of North Korea will wake up and take him out. He'll be put on trial for massive human rights abuses ...

There will be no sharing of power.
The fat lil' kim boy .. he's on his way outta here ...

Yeah ... I had this in mind when I said the N. Koreans jamming to Muse, eating burgers, and overthrowing lil' kim for keeping them away from it all ... 'Uprising by Muse'
