We had a discussion about this on another thread today... extinction of life.

It seems that conservatives are fine with this.. we're to keep on partying until we and non-human lifeforms become extinct.

The stupidity of that comment, blaming conservatives who conserve for the death of an ancient tree that was at an age when those trees die is what one would expect from a liberal. Maybe chemtrails did it. Maybe the tribesmen pee'd on it one too many times.

Note the part of the article where it says "the specimines died during the study period" it's because of the dumb hippy libs poking and prodding them that they died! Duh!

I digressed, I wasn't specifically referring to these trees, but to climate change and environmental destruction overall. There's no question that environmental preservation is not on the agenda of the GOP. They NEVER mention it, and do everything possible to roll back regulations and protections, and now Trump is fracking on public lands.

So funny, without a shred of evidence He man blames "climate change" for trees dying. Did he ever think it might just be something else? Like maybe natural causes?

Verifiable evidence might be nice if you are going to make such crazy statements.

It's from official sources

When the source admits they don't know its silly to push the AGW agenda with this story.

Not really a valid point.
If we lost 99% of the current species we'd die.

Since 100 years ago about 1% of species have gone extinct. In a real mass extinction like the Permian 90% of species go extinct. This is not debatable, THERE IS NO SIXTH GREAT MASS EXTINCTION TODAY!

Only a complete fool would fail to understand that a tree NEEDS carbon to photosynthesize into plant matter..

The suggestion that carbon is killing trees is inane. No about of personal bias will change the simple grade 3 science fact.

No silly, Carbon is being pumped into the atmosphere in huge amounts, by human causes throughout the industrial era and into the present.
Most of the carbon is from oil and gas and coal use. The carbon is then causing global warming and droughts in certain areas and ever increasing heat and summer dryness in my area which is killing the red woods in CA and the big old Douglas firs and cedars in OR and WA.

The trees need carbon but they need water and spring fog and moisture during the late spring and summer, even more.

All died during the study period...

Climate change chuckle

Kind of reminds me of those pesky iceberg cutting scientists in Antarctica.
