It just gets so slow when I leave it unattended.

Firefox has half a dozen processes, over half are over 500,000K usage. a few over 1,000,000K.

it's just a few tabs with one or two videos.

i think someones up to something. wut?

I gotta be honest I have wondered about this on an older pirated windows machine I have.

Extra internet adapters in your device manager?

What shows up when you do a full ipconfig /all?

Firewall it. Then only replies to your outgoing requests can get in.

Chrome and Firefox have gotten so bloated it's ridiculous.

The more ram you add the more those programs are using imo.

Something fishy and chrome is a joke.

I've locked down an old version of iron.

I've played around with an old version Firefox called "light"

This is why I asked about his ipconfig

I making this post using surf browser. It has to be the most simplistic browser ever.
But it works... and works well. No tabs or fancy buttons, no history, no address bar, no nothing really.

You can netstat it to see what ports it's listening on.

I figured it was typo. :)

The irony is that the thread is about the possibility of the OP's PC being scammed. Gotta love irony.

You can netstat it to see what ports it's listening on.

Another tool that can be fun is visual trace route.
