Only Messi can lead Argentina to the finals. The team is quite a MESS (pun intended) in terms of organization.

My bet was Spain - Brazil - Germany. But now that Spain's manager has just been fired (in the wake of Real Madrid's announcement as its new manager), I don't know.

Don´t count France out. They are my pick.

Just so you yanks know, it's not called soccer, it's called FOOTBALL to the rest of the civilized world.

Exactly but I said soccer because this is a mixed forum. I didn´t want them to feel left out.

Remember what Russia did the last time they hosted the (Winter) Olympics? And now it's a bigger show!

He made some comments lately about that. I think the phrase "Rue the day" was in it. I think the name of a certain city was also. I think it was Kiev. Yes, Kiev.

I have a bad feeling about this world cup. ISIS continuosly made threats but I think this is a huge opportunity for a false flag especially now that is being held in Russia. I hope not.

We often call it Futbol (slightly different pronunciation than football) here in the US. BTW, futbol is becoming extremely popular here. Last summer, I saw Tottenham Hotspurs play Man City in Nashville; attendance was approximately 57,000!

Football has been getting popular in the US for quite a while. It is a good place for premier players like Pirlo to spend a couple of year before they retire. I`m quite surprised the US didn´t make it through.

Here you go my american friends.

U.S., Canada and Mexico win right to host 2026 World Cup

For the first time in 32 years, the men’s World Cup is coming back to North America.

FIFA’s 200-plus member associations gathered in Moscow on Wednesday and voted to award 2026 World Cup hosting rights to the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The North American bid – the product of over a decade of planning and campaigning – beat out one rival bid, Morocco’s, by a vote of 134 to 65.

The moment @FIFAcom announced that USA, Canada and Mexico will host the 2026

Imagine the logistics for this US-CAN-MEX World Cup.

it's just football, not the Olympics
all you need is football stadiums (preexisting), balls, buses and planes to get the people around
and lots of beer
maybe more beer

And the NAU rises from the ashes! Let it be, please, please. Mexico hosted the 1970 and 1986 Cups on its own, no problem, and giving it to a wider area this time around is a pretty significant political play. Hope Mr. T and his goons have done their part and disappeared by then.
