300 arrests in France overnight, two killed, including a fan who broke his neck jumping into a canal Scream1

You have to be a dumb ass to jump into a canal. Seriously.

How the French citizens celebrate the win.

Heck, if we celebrated a win that way ... we'd be locked up.

Most World Cup talent are born in France

52 representatives at the 2018 FIFA World Cup were born in France.

The diversity of France, and Paris in particular, lends a hand to the range of national teams its citizens can represent. Along with many European migrants residing in Paris, France’s colonial history also means that a large proportion of African and Caribbean immigrants call Paris home.

Croatia's National Soccer Team Celebrates With a Nazi-supporting, Fascist Singer

Singer who in the past had sung warmly about Auschwitz, the annihilation of Jews and the SS, whose song about beautiful Germany, including parts that were lost in World War II, became the team’s anthem.

In the past, he sang much more-pointed songs — including one about the Jasenovac, a Croatian death camp in Slavonia where hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, Roma and opponents of the Nazi-Croatian regime were murdered during World War II. “The Neretva River sweeps Serbs to the blue Adriatic,” goes the song, which praises Ante Pavelic, the leader of the Nazi-Croatian Ustase regime.

It is such an unfortunate dynamic, shared by Ukraine and other captive nations.
Brief period of independence during ww2.

Would be another 50 years before Croatia gained independence.
Both nations (Croatia & Ukraine) should forget ww2, and focus on achievements made since early 90s.

Fun fact.
England & Croatia between them have won 1 game in 9.

England 1 v Spain 2
Portugal 1 v Croatia 1

World Cup semi finalists, England & Croatia, have 1 win in 11 games.
