Don Jr. has been listening to his lawyers, he knows lying to congress can lead to a perjury charge. So instead he is lying about "not remembering" which is impossible to prove. If he is suffering such obvious memory lapses and dementia this early in life why does Trump keep him on as acting head of the Trump Corporations?

I guess it is better to look like an imbecilic incompetent mental deficient, than to go to jail for perjury or suffer the laughter of the entire Senate were he to plead the fifth. chuckle

Don Trump Jr can’t remember anything about his father’s involvement with Russia in Senate testimony

"Donald Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he couldn’t remember whether he had discussed the Russian investigation with his father.

The Senate panel released thousands of pages of transcripts from interviews conducted as part of the congressional investigation of Russia election interference, including an hours-long interview with the president’s eldest son.

“I appreciate the opportunity to have assisted the Judiciary Committee in its inquiry,” Trump Jr. said Wednesday in a statement. “The public can now see that for over five hours I answered every question asked and was candid and forthright with the Committee.”

Trump Jr. told the panel that he did not recall whether his father, President Donald Trump, had known about a meeting he helped set up with a Russian attorney promising damaging campaign information about Hillary Clinton.

“I mean, obviously he’s aware of it now because he’s read it, it’s been in the papers, but that’s the extent of my knowledge of his knowledge about it,” Trump Jr. testified.

He said his father did not express surprise about the meeting or ask why he wasn’t told about it.

“Frankly, by the time anyone was aware of it, which was summer of this year (2017), as I stated earlier, I wouldn’t have wanted to get him involved in it because it had nothing to do with him.”

Trump Jr. said he never spoke to his father about a statement about the meeting that later proved misleading, although he admits the president had some involvement in producing the document — which the special counsel is investigating as possible obstruction of justice."

"Senate investigators also asked Trump Jr. to identify the person he spoke to by phone in between phone calls with Emin Agalarov, a Russian pop singer acquaintance who brokered the Trump Tower meeting.

Phone logs show Agalarov called Trump Jr. at 4:04 p.m. on June 6, 2016, to discuss the Veselnitskaya meeting, and then the president’s son had a four-minute call with someone who used a blocked number before calling back the Russian singer at 4:31 p.m.

A Senate investigator asked Trump Jr. whether his father used a blocked number, and he said he did not know."

BREAKING!!!!!

Ethics Office has ‘essentially’ reported Trump to the Justice Department for potential criminal prosecution

"MSNBC chief legal correspondent Ari Melber reports that the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) sent a letter to the Department of Justice on President Donald Trump’s hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Ari Melber

@AriMelber
NEW: Ethics office sending letter to Rod Rosenstein stating that Michael Cohen's payment on behalf of Trump was a debt and may be relevant to "any inquiry" Rosenstein may be pursuing.

Former Department of Justice spokesperson Matt Miller described the letter as “essentially a criminal referral to DOJ for Trump making a false statement in a previous financial disclosure.”

“Fascinated by OGE’s decision to make this referral public,” he continued. “Leaves DOJ no choice but to open at least a preliminary investigation into Trump for false statements (if he wasn’t already a subject in the Cohen inquiry, which he might be).”

Walter Shaub, the former Director of the Office of Government Ethics, went even further than Miller.

“This is tantamount to a criminal referral,” Shaub suggested. “OGE has effectively reported the president to DOJ for potentially committing a crime.”

‘A lot of people lied to us’: Dem lawmaker says new revelations show the GOP is covering up Russia scandal

"During the interview, Cuomo asked Quigley what he made of Qatari investor Ahmed Al-Rumaihi’s admission that he went to Trump Tower to meet with Trump administration transition officials in December 2016 to talk about undisclosed matters. Quigley said that he wasn’t surprised that new revelations about meetings between Trump transition officials and foreign nationals keep coming to light because Republicans had ended the House Russia probe without properly following up on a number of leads.

“Since the Republicans shut down the House Committee on Intelligence investigation, revelations along these lines are happening on a weekly basis,” he said. “I think it indicates to me that a lot of people lied to us in their testimony, it’s further evidence that the transcripts should be released so the American public can make that choice and help them understand what’s taken place.”

Quigley said that these revelations also “call into question the testimony of a lot of other folks who should be brought back” to testify, including Michael Cohen, Cambridge Analytica founder Alexander Nix, and former Blackwater CEO Erik Prince.

Quigley went on to say that House Republicans bear the blame for not digging deeper into the investigation, as he said they not only shut down the probe, but also refused to subpoena key witnesses that could have turned up more evidence."

They need to put an asterisk next to 2016 election.

The 1st unfree and unfair election in US history.
One candidate was backed by the Russian state.

The facts, had they surfaced, might have devastated Trump campaign: Trump’s future NSC adviser was under investigation, as was his campaign chairman.

One adviser appeared to have Russian intel contacts. Another was suspected of being a Russian agent.

The Mueller report is going to be so interesting and I am wondering as the evidence grows if he is going to indict directly through the DOJ or send it all to the congress with so much undeniable evidence that they will have to impeach Pence and Trump at the same time? It is really going to be the most politically crazy shitshow in the history of the US of A. I have hopes the civil war will still top it in terms of dramatic effects on the nation, but we shall see.

These are the revelations from Don Jr.’s extraordinary testimony about his meeting with the Russians
Breaking down the document dump.

"The blocked phone call
On July 11, 2017, Trump Jr. appeared on Sean Hannity’s eponymous Fox News Channel show and claimed that all the preparations and discussion in advance of the meeting were handled over email.

HANNITY: At any point were you told, either in a phone conversation or otherwise, what they might tell you? What Goldstone seemed to be implying you would receive.

TRUMP JR.: As I recall, it was all basically this email coordination. Let’s try to set up a meeting and see what happens. It’s going to be interesting information. In the end, it wasn’t about that at all.

We now know this isn’t true. The transcript reveals that Emin Agalarov called Trump Jr. on June 6, 2016 to discuss the meeting"

Collusion lots and lots of collusion that is for certain. Corruption is just around the corner. Scream1

I wonder if the republicans in Congress care enough of about their obligations to the Congress of the US and to the constitution to go after Eric Prince for perjury? The Mercer family and the DeVos/Prince families of billionaires would not want to keep giving millions to every republican if that happened. Going to be interesting to watch.

Betsy DeVos’ brother Erik Prince appears to have lied about ties to Trump campaign in sworn testimony to Congress

Betsy DeVos’ brother Erik Prince appears to have lied to the House Intelligence Committee while under oath.

The founder of controversial military contracting firm Blackwater was asked whether he had formal communication with the Trump campaign. He claimed that he sent “papers” outlining his foreign policy ideas to Steve Bannon—and put up a Trump yard sign.

On November 30, 2017, Prince was asked directly if there was “formal communication or contact with the campaign.” He denied any such contacts.

But a new report from the New York Times reveals that Price actually facilitated high-level meetings between Trump and foreign agents on Aug. 3, 2016.

Prince arranged for Donald Trump Jr. to meet with the crown princes who led Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, who were both eager to help Trump Sr. win the presidency.

Prince also arranged a meeting with an Israeli specialist in social media manipulation who created a multimillion-dollar proposal to help elect Trump, according to the Times.

Prince is the brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. The two come from a wealthy Southwest Michigan family. Prince is a Naval Academy drop-out and a former intern of Trump-loving California congressman Dana Rohrabacher. He later become the head of a lucrative and controversial mercenary firm that worked in Iraq under George W. Bush.

The discrepancy has been noted by Mother Jones and analysts on Twitter.

Kyle Cheney

@kyledcheney
Erik Prince has a LOT of explaining to do to the House Intelligence Committee.

Left: Prince’s sworn Nov. 30 testimony sharply downplaying his connection to the Trump campaign.

Right: Prince facilitating high level meetings for the campaign with foreign officials, per NYT

Cohen’s business partner just made a plea deal with Mueller and is cooperating with investigators

The misfortunes of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen continue to pile up. The New York Times reports that his business partner, Evgeny A. Freidman—known as the taxi king—has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in exchange for a deal that would allow him to avoid jail time for tax fraud and grand larceny.

Mueller is following the money to Israeli social media firm that met with Trump Jr into a Cyprus bank: report

"Despite assurances by Trump surrogates like Rudy Giuliani that the Mueller probe is wrapping up, the investigation appears more sweeping than ever.

In 2017, the Guardian reported that investigators were looking into the financial history of a bank based in Cyprus, Greece. The bank, owned by two Lebanese nationals, was suspected of money laundering.

On Tuesday, Bloomberg reported that the same bank did business with PSY Group, an Israeli company whose founder reportedly met with Donald Trump Jr. ahead of the election. The company services include reaching target audiences with misleading information through web portals designed to look like news sites.

A lawyer for Donald Trump Jr. says he remembers the pitch meeting but denies making use of the company’s services.

Although originating in Tel Aviv, the company is headquartered in Cyprus, where as Bloomberg notes regulations around financial transactions are laxer.

It’s illegal for foreign entities to contribute anything of value to sway an American election."
