Stuff is hitting the fan: Bannon gets second subpoena in a week!

What does Bannon know about what and when did Trump knew about some things happening.

Is Bannon going to fight? Tell the investigators that he can't talk because Trump will not allow him to, or is Bannon going to spill his guts, because Trump is a disgusting "traitor/money launderer" and to get back at Trump for firing him and getting him fired from brietbart?

Bannon tried to stonewall House panel on Trump transition — until lawmakers subpoenaed him on the spot

"Steve Bannon was subpoenaed for the second time in a week during testimony before a House panel on his time working for President Donald Trump.

The former White House chief strategist was subpoenaed last week by special counsel Robert Mueller in his investigation of Trump campaign ties to Russia, and Bannon will be required to testify before a grand jury.

Bannon testified Tuesday before the House Intelligence Committee, where Fox News congressional correspondent Chad Pergram reported he was issued another subpoena.

Sources told the Fox News reporter that Bannon was told by the White House not to answer lawmakers’ questions about the administration or the Trump transition, although he did not claim executive privilege.

However, lawmakers compelled Bannon’s testimony on those topics by issuing him a subpoena during the closed-door session.

Chad Pergram

@ChadPergram
Sources say Bannon told by WH not to answer questions before House Intel Cmte about the White House and the transition. Did not assert executive privilege. Committee subpoenas him during the meeting to comply while in the hearing."

reporter Bannon Subpoenaed in Russia Investigation
lol This will be fun!

Trump and Bannon betrayed their own people in order to gain power,

how easily will they betray the trust they previously placed in each other in order to save their greasy asses?

Quote:Bannon Is Subpoenaed in Mueller’s Russia Investigation

WASHINGTON — Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, was subpoenaed last week by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, to testify before a grand jury as part of the investigation into possible links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

The move marked the first time Mr. Mueller is known to have used a grand jury subpoena to seek information from a member of Mr. Trump’s inner circle. The special counsel’s office has used subpoenas before to seek information on Mr. Trump’s associates and their possible ties to Russia or other foreign governments.

The subpoena could be a negotiating tactic. Mr. Mueller is likely to allow Mr. Bannon to forgo the grand jury appearance if he agrees to instead be questioned by investigators in the less formal setting of the special counsel’s offices about ties between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia and about the president’s conduct in office, according to the person, who would not be named discussing the case. But it was not clear why Mr. Mueller treated Mr. Bannon differently than the dozen administration officials who were interviewed in the final months of last year and were never served with a subpoena.

The subpoena is a sign that Mr. Bannon is not personally the focus of the investigation. Justice Department rules allow prosecutors to subpoena to the targets of investigations only in rare circumstances. (...)

NYT: Mueller subpoenas Bannon

By Eli Watkins, CNN

Washington (CNN)Special counsel Robert Mueller subpoenaed former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon last week, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
Bannon was on Capitol Hill testifying before the House Intelligence Committee when the news broke that Mueller had issued the subpoena for the now-estranged associate of President Donald Trump to testify before a grand jury.

Bannon's testimony on the Hill on Tuesday was his first appearance before any of the congressional committees investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election or potential coordination with Trump's associates, and it comes just days after the White House broke with Bannon over comments attributed to him disparaging Trump and the Trump family.

Several White House staffers have come forward voluntarily for interviews with the special counsel team. The New York Times, citing a person with direct knowledge, said the grand jury subpoena for Bannon "could be a negotiating tactic" and that Mueller would likely allow Bannon to speak with investigators instead of going before the grand jury.

The subpoena came after Bannon's comments to author Michael Wolff became public, according to The New York Times. In Wolff's book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," Bannon is quoted as saying a June 2016 meeting Donald Trump Jr., Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort had with a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."

Bannon also said he assumed Trump Jr. delivered information about the meeting to Trump, despite denials from the two, and downplayed the likelihood of illegal coordination with Russia while saying there was dread that Mueller's investigation could turn up something else nefarious, such as money laundering.

Trump disavowed Bannon, saying his former top aide had "lost his mind," and later nicknamed him "Sloppy Steve." A source close to Bannon subsequently provided a statement saying Bannon expressed regret over the timing of his response to the book and that he thinks Trump Jr. is a "patriot."

Is that old alcoholic any good to any side though? He just seems like an attention princess.

But Trump promised he knew the "best" people and that he would hire the "best " people. chuckle I guess now he has a reputation for firing so many of the "best" people after hiring them.

I think he knows everything about the collusion and the strange way that Trump and Pence handled the hiring and firing of Michael Flynn, which was also "treasonous" in my opinion.

Bannon has said that the meeting with Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort, Don Jr., Jared Kushner with Russian intelligence operatives in Trump Tower was "treasonous" and that Trump was involved in "money laundering".

They are probably roping him in on a lie so they can get him like they have done with everyone else. These people are the dumbest ever seen, they open their mouths too much. If they kept their mouths shut the FBI doesn't have anything on you and you simply deny it.

I'm waiting for the tweets. Eventually when Trump is indicted, most of the evidence will be tweets.

Apparently his lawyers and assistants are doing a good job at keeping his cloaca closed on this matter.

...but sooner or later a tweet will appear saying that Bannon is a loser, etc. chuckle

Is this an example of the prisoners dilemma?

Considering that both are far-righters, I would say that the dilemma does not apply here: - By doctrine each will try to save his own ass and get maximum benefit for himself, so there's no dilemma.

This is a situation in wich both lose. The outcome depends only in the degree of pettiness of each one.
