14 wrestlers defend Jordan in release

http://thehill.com/homenews/house/396364...in-release

Fourteen former Ohio State University wrestlers have gone on the record to refute claims that Rep. Jim Jordan ignored allegations of sexual abuse while serving as an assistant coach more than two decades ago, according to a group set up to provide a public defense for the Ohio Republican.

The wrestlers are listed in a press release sent out by the group "Stand with Jim Jordan."

The press release lists statements from 14 members of the team and a 15th person who spoke anonymously.

Some of the statements have been given to the media, and the group aggregates the results, listing their quotations.

What does that matter? This is just a PR spin.

"Oh, but look at what all these people who weren't in the room when the allegations happened have to say about not being a witness!"

Get out with this victim blaming and denial bullshit. LIke it's easy for a bunch of guys to stand up and say they were a victim. It is not. The truth has no expiration date and in sexual abuse cases, it can take a lifetime to come to terms with and being able to speak about it.

They did not say he "must have known". At least one said he talked to Jordan directly about it.

Victim blaming??? These men were not the "Victims" of Jim Jordan. The doctor who is accused committed suicide

One said he talked to.Jordan about it? You mean the ONE who's statement to Jordan about the team doctor was “something to the effect of ‘his hands are cold as s–t, he checked out every hair on my ball,”??????

This coming from an Adult, these aren' t kids we arr talking about!!

So are you saying this man should be persecuted, and his entire political career crushed, because he didnt take a statement as above, FROM AN ADULT.... as an indication of abuse!

You are victim blaming because you are implying the stories are untrue, that the victims are overreacting and claiming Jim Jordan is the real victim.

I do not care for the age or the gender of the victims. Sexual abuse is sexual abuse. It should be investigated because if he did know and looked away to protect his job or his friends, he does not belong in Congress.

Im not saying their claims of abuse are untrue. Im saying their claims that Jordan must have known, or should automatically think an adult man coming to him about the doc checking every hair on his ball, was abused! Especially 20 yrs ago!

Its bullshit like this that make the left lose all credibility. Because the timing of this WAS INDEED politically motivated.

And the only reason to push such a story, with such scant claims and evidence would be political motivation, Yes of which Jordan is the victim

Meanwhile the last numbers from Ohio State is 150 people are being interviewed, those that were molested, those that know of someone who was or heard a rumor that they were and as important their asking for the names of employees who knew about Dr. Strauss,.

It's real easy to put your name on a statement that you believe Jordan, it's not so easy to do that when even though you like Jordan you are absolutely sure that he did know.
Besides the 2 wrestlers that are named and Jordan/others point to their dicey past you have 5 other named wrestlers who say Jordan was well aware of what was going on with Strauss and the decadent shower behavior.
One of the men who came forward also comes from a family of Ohio wrestlers who were all champions, the Ranges, David, his father and his son.
What you're also ignoring is that we have no idea what is being told to investigators by those who haven’t gone public.

Then you have Jordan's comment from Fox News which is self-explanatory.

"Conversations in a locker room are a lot different than allegations of abuse,"

Bottom line is it's not up to Jim, his wrestler defenders or his Republican buddys who will determine what adults had information and did squat.
What especially should be noted is when Jordan coached at Ohio State there was/is a very precise statement from Human Resources on sexual molestation/assault and the reporting of it.

What especially should be noted is when Jordan coached at Ohio State there was/is a very precise statement from Human Resources on sexual molestation/assault and the reporting of it.

150 people neing interviewed, but not ONLY from the wrestling department? Strauss was the sports doctor for the entire university sports program, not just wrestling.

I have no idea whether or not if I "Like" Jim Jordan or not. I know nothing about the man. All I do know is that these allegations appear to be timed in a manner that is politically motivated. And I have seen no clear cut evidence that Jim Jordan knew that "Abuse" was happening, or was ever told that "Abuse" was happening.

All involved were of legal consenting age. Unless one of these men went to Jordan first hand and said Im being abused or have been assaulted, then what was Jordan supposed to report? And he is absolutely right! Coversations in a locker room of "Docs hands are cold.as sh*t" " And he looked at every hair on my nut" from consenting aged adults, does not constitute something that should have been reported!

And by the way everyone involved were of consenting age (adults)... Was this an abuse of.power? Absolutely! But this was not a case of "child molestation" as you all keep.trying to portray it.

Was that the wrestler who went to Strauss for a sore throat?chuckle
Your adult/kids comments are not only legally null and void they're also offensive, when it comes to sexual molestation/assault and/or the mandatory reporting it at Ohio State there is no cut-off age.
