This is very interesting. I noticed that asparagus is "antidiabetic" but they don't know why? Well I know why. Things like onions, asparagus, artichoke. All contain oligosaccharide, guess what it does?

oligosaccharide disables LECTINS!!!

I was reading that lectins get through the gut walls and cause immune system to react. And go to major organs like the pancreas. I personally have rheumatoid arthritis and my doctor told me it was an immune response. I also have diabetes.

Grains, beans, tomatos, potatoes, eggplant all contain large amount of lectins. Which means that people who have celiacs disease are probably having a reaction to lectins. If the immune system attacks bodily parts it kills them. Peanuts as well.

You know how people have peanut allergies, this may be the cause.

So basically anything made from grains beans tomatoes potatoes eggplant peanuts Etc may be causing damage to your body. They all are night-shade's!

Lectins are a defense mechanism for PLANTS.

So that they don't get eaten!

Remember the movie "The happening"?

Lectins are like a chemotherapy.

Sure it kills cancer cells.

It kills our cells as well.

It's funny how they push a bean diet and eat nuts and stuff like that it's all super high in lectins. There are health benefits and also pitfalls.

But the pitfalls are probably worse.

Marijuana has lectins in it which basically kills cancer.

So it's really not marijuana it's lectins.

Maybe the lectins in marijuana are really strong.

It's funny there articles on this on the internet and they're all missing.

This part is incorrect:
"So basically anything made from grains beans tomatoes potatoes eggplant peanuts Etc may be causing damage to your body. They all are night-shade's!"

Nightshade family would be potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants and peppers.

Beans are not in the nightshade family at all. Nor are peanuts nor grains.

RE: I found something I would like to share
"Lectins have a bad rap, but they’re not all created equal. Some lectins are beneficial.

In plants, lectins appear to be part of the natural defense mechanisms of plants and important for seed survival.

Lectins have many essential roles in the body. For one, they activate the complement immune system (part of innate immune system), which helps fight pathogens [R]. For example, the lectin pathway helps us fight off pneumonia [R].

Lectins are often anti-microbial [R, R2, R3]. For instance, a lectin from bananas inhibits HIV-1 in test tubes [R].

Some herbs work their magic via lectins. Bitter melon and garlic ® are examples of herbs which have lectins that can be beneficial.

Some herbs are from the bean family and are therefore likely to have concentrated levels of lectins. These include some in my toolkits such as astragalus, licorice, carob, and kudzu.

Lectins are generally immunostimulants and the herbs with lectins also generally stimulate the immune system. A lectin from bitter melon does just that [R]."

https://www.selfhacked.com/blog/lectins-...l-harmful/

Seems majority of people who are lectin sensitive is because of blood type/genetics, And those with autoimmune diseases and inflammation issues.
