People don't conspire against me because they hate me.

Attacked by the meaning of life!

Here is an interesting talk from Professor Joesph Uscinski, who talks about the nature of conspiracy theories and conspiracy thinking in this lecture to Conway hall. Turns out, pretty much everyone is except for Trump, who is exploiting conspiracy thinking.

It was a talk for the London Fortean society BTW. http://forteanlondon.blogspot.co.uk/

Guess I'm a loser then. And proud of it if that's the case. Besides that's not the worst insult I've heard in past 24 hrs. Conspiracy theorists activate

A lot of conspiracy theories are accurate...

MK Ultra, Gulf of Tonkin, Secret Socities, banking, Bavarian Illumantati, etc.

The problem is some people make things up out of nowhere and then ruin the credibility.

People who dont trust the governments (which no one should) go to conspiracy theories to understand why governments are evil.

He mentions a few that have been shown to be factual, like Watergate, Iran Contra and the Tuskegee experiment.

Yeah, that's like almost 5% of the minor ones.

RE: Conspiracy Theories are for Losers
It's just a manipulation of language, to diminish the questions that regular people have about the way things are run.

Think about it: if two or more people meet and decide to do something, they are conspiring. They could be "conspiring" to plan a birthday party. Or something else.

It's long been a strategy to "diminish" your opponent by reducing them to some sort of cartoon identity ... thus, anyone who questions the status quo and therefore a "threat" to the way things are run -- is now jokingly referred to as a "conspiracy theorist." Once that term is thrown out, whatever that person says -- true or not -- is just dismissed as being foolish.

Some things are, in reality, conspiracy "theory." Others, however, are conspiracy "fact." Use your discernment and figure it out for yourselves.

And most of all, please don't reduce yourselves to name-calling. We are not children in the schoolyard.

There are very few that have been shown to be factual and had that accepted by all sides.

Ah yes the voice of ignorance.

About 50% of the news everyday is revealing of theories that are now provable.

That's what news is.

It's the title of the lecture in the first post. Uscinski defines a conspiracy as a small group of powerful people acting in secret against the common good and conspiracy theories as those accounts of conspiracies that conflict with what the relevant epistemological authorities tell us.
