I think I'd just be more amused watching the assorted bigots of the world losing their cool over it. Oh, woe be to us white guys. How "genocided" we are.......

Yeah, this. It's funny as all f*cking hell. They melt down like no other, whilst screaming fragrant orchid at everyone else. Hillarious. Agree with the rest of your post too, Idris is a dude. Side note, I get to drive the car he had a photo shoot in recently. (was another driver with Idris, I'm only part time, but I drive that car alot, it's a blue 1970 something DS420 Daimler, lovely old car)

lol...that's awesome. Yeah, Idris is a dude. Top man.

I want to amend a bit of my post though, I wouldn't necessarily say every person who had a problem with Elba being cast is "a bigot".

Most probably are, lol...

But I'm not comfortable assuming they all are. That's a pretty intense assumption to make about someone, and I suppose it's possible there are other reasons his casting could bother someone than just bigotry. Who knows.

"(He) originated the concept 'enemy of the people.' This term automatically made it unnecessary that the ideological errors of a man or men engaged in a controversy be proven. It made possible the use of the cruelest repression.”

The franchise is old enough to be experimented with in this way. If people are upset about a black man being cast as James Bond maybe they should invent a new hero for themselves and get over James Bond, who has been played by seven actors up to this point.
