Funny to notice this again but the Bermuda Island is always moving around by IDK 200 miles or more on all the maps.

I have been in the Hawaiian islands for 40 years, these hurricanes are almost always over hyped. Chances are even if it hits the coast there will only be flood damage since it will just be a tropical storm by then.

RE: HURRICANE FLORENCE
Way too early to be calling location of landfall.
Looks like the high pressure ridge will in fact steer Florence into the east coast.
If you live from Carolinas to New England, you should already be prepping.
Cash, gas, generator, food, booze, coffee, firewood, propane, ammo.
Will you evacuate if ordered?
If not make plans to die.
Because I've personally witnessed people panic and go into the middle of the storm.
If you choose to stay, there will be no escaping.
You will shelter in place and possibly die.
Or evacuate.

"They" are saying Cat 3 or 4 and the OBX inward like HUGO.
The water is VERY warm by the coast. It will intensify.

East Coast storms are different from Hawaiian ones.
The high pressure in the North Atlantic is expected to hold the storm south.
Means a Mid Atlantic or Southern USA hit.

Only if it's greater than a cat one by the time it gets here.
We rode SANDY out.
The eye went right over our house.
It was a cat one by then.
We did okay. It was manageable.

But tornados that come off these are fickle.
You never know where those will roam ...

true but if that ridge moves just a little it could skirt the coastline and go northeasterly, the ridge belly is so close to land now you may not know till last minute...
Just to make it fun...

RE: HURRICANE FLORENCE
I didn't really say this well, but alluded to it in another thread.
http://lunaticoutpost.com/thread-57296.html

I don't trust the weather modification controllers. Not one bit.
They're not here for us. Their masters are in it for the money/derivatives/futures.
Life and property be damned.

All eyes are on Florence, while that blob behind Florence seems to be drawing energy from Florence and intensifying and developing further.

1-2 punch. Blindsided by 2, because everyone was watching 1.

Agree about the twisters.
Our rule is any sustained winds greater than 90 mph and the wooden structures start to come apart.
I was in the eyewall of Gloria back in 85 and the old wooden house we were in started shaking bad when the gusts hit the high 80's. We left and took shelter in a concrete building. Had a motorcycle helmet with a full visor and the gusts were intense. Those gusts peaked in the high 80's, so 100 plus sustained winds are deadly.
Sandy was really a surge event. Wind never reached hurricane force.
But what a surge that was!! Looked outside and as the surge hit the house wiring, our 28 foot boat got picked up off the 5 feet of concrete blocks and started floating at out living room window. That almost ended badly. Boat ended up on its side with no damage except the batteries emptied.

i hope ghostie will be ok...looks like its barreling down towards nc

There is little chance of of it hitting GOL. I live in the mountains too, except a thousand feet or so higher up than he does. This is western N.C., closer to the Tenn. border. (He lives the next county down in these mountains).

It could never make it clear across the state (If it follows the path of Hugo). I was 3 years old during Hugo and don't remember it, but people who do said the wind barely made it to the lowest part of the foothills.

My parents had a house on Hatteras Island that was badly damaged though. Parts of the Outer Banks are very fragile.

I remember HUGO very well. The entire mid Atlantic through New England was a freak'n mess. A girl I was working with had her honeymoon in Bermuda a few days after Hugo .... poor kid.

I think OBX (outer banks) is the bullseye. Really.
