There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth when one of those suckers goes down.

Who wants to ride in a huge, flimsy aluminum can with three hundred other monkeys?

Here:

Only 7 of these aircraft are being built (for the time being). Only one carrier, Singapore Airlines, has found the need for an ultra long-range version of the A350 that can fly almost 10,000 miles (18,000km), from New York City to Southeast Asia-non-stop.

All 7 are for delivery this year.

The ULR doesn't require additional fuel tanks over the standard A350-900, but instead uses additional space already available in the existing tanks to carry an extra 6,340 gallons of fuel to take its range to 9,700 nautical miles (17,900km), or 1600 miles more than the standard -900. Airbus said the plane can stay aloft for more than 20 hours at a time.

The only thing that is really specific for the ULR is the additional fuel.
