RIDICULOUS!!! THAT IS JUST INSANE! FINED FOR GRASS CLIPPINGS ON THE ROAD???

https://wnep.com/2018/09/06/elderly-man-...s-warning/

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- A 98-year-old lifelong resident of South Williamsport was fined by code enforcement officers.

His violation? Grass clippings left outside his home.

South Williamsport's code office does not give out warnings for snow removal or grass clipping violations. You immediately receive a fine.

When Ernie Eakin received that fine in the mail last week he was surprised because he didn't even know he violated an ordinance.

There's law enforcement and then there's harassment

Tell that to Obama and Trump.

If storm drains clog up, and flood your house, because of grass clippings, who is responsible?

What are they going to do about the leaves that fall off the trees onto the road? Pick them up one leaf at a time?

Most storm drains have filters to prevent buildup and capture all the debris.

This law is a load of B.S.!

I don't want to come across as picky but...
Is it really necessary to describe a 98 year old man as 'elderly'?
I think we kinda get that already.

chuckle

Would codger or geezer be more to your liking?

'Codger gets busted by five oh for grass distribution' would be a very Mancunian kinda thread.

Ignorance is no excuse against the law.
The laws change, and you should just know that.
You don't have to be notified when laws change. You will just be billed.
This is why we have lib-tard politicians: to protect us from grandpa mowing his lawn.
Thank you lib-tards for straightening us criminals out and seeing things as you deem we should.

A gust of wind from passing cars would blown that away.

GEEZ, people think of everything they can fine you for to get money these days!
You just don't get it Dan........ It's not about his age, how long he's lived there, IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY. These self important so called inspectors are just looking for ways to drum up bucks. So they appear to be doing a useful job until they retire.

They count on the 80% who have too many useful things to do in life and just throw the check in the mail. Want to fight it? Call the city up & start asking who wrote the ticket etc. Spend 20 minutes to find what office the inspector works out of, his home address. When they give you the ticket, whip out your notes and read the address off & ask them where they'd rather be served. After the shock wears of they'll ask why. Answer to serve the summons when you sue them in civil court. And file the selective enforcement lawsuit. "Yeah, it saves me a bunch doing the legwork for the attorney!" >ANYTHING you do to make it appear as though the lawsuit will cost way more than the fine you're good Works for me every time until the current inspector transfers or retires. IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY! EASY MONEY FOR THEM. They seriously count on your just throwing the check in the mail & be done with it attitude.[/u]
