Baby found crawling across New Jersey road prompts investigation

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/09/24/bab...ation.html

A baby girl found crawling across a New Jersey road Saturday prompted officials to launch an investigation — and a photo of the shocking incident has gone viral on social media.

The motorist who spotted the child, Cory Cannon of Eatontown, told the Asbury Park Press he noticed the toddler crawling across the road in Lakewood at around 5 p.m.

"I thought it was a toy or something until she moved," he told the newspaper. "I knew I needed to get some sort of proof and my GPS was open on my phone, so I used my work vehicle to slow down traffic behind me and took the pic as I was exiting the vehicle and halting oncoming cars."

Cannon said he then watched a neighbor come out to the street and return the baby to her home.......

WTF is wrong with people?

Come on people, kids get up to all sorts.

There's no denying this is pretty bad, but no child ever has grown up without have some parts of their live happen unobserved.

They think one of the older kids left a door open. That this kid was found so quickly indicates it was spotted pretty quickly that they were missing.

Are we going to arrest every parent who takes their kid into accident and emergency because they escaped notice long enough to have an accident?

Those little rascals can get out and away so fast. When our were young they were playing with four other children outside. We checked on them and they were fine. Five minutes later, they were all missing, set off parent extreme urgency.

We found them a block away picking flowers. My heart still races thinking about that.

Exactly, no human being is physically capable of 100% perfect vigilance 100% of the time and it takes kids no time at all to make that first move. After that every second you spend looking for them, is another couple of steps further away they can get. All they need is enough seconds to turn a corner for them to be deemed "missing".
