Wow is there no end to the double standards and hypocrisy of the Trump family? No, sorry just no, there is not. Tissue

Ivanka is starting her own foundation — and is accepting checks from foreign governments: report

"During the 2016 presidential campaign, the Clinton Foundation pledged that it would stop accepting foreign donations if Hillary Clinton became president.

Now it seems that First Daughter Ivanka Trump is starting her very own foundation that she will operate while working inside the White House — and she’s reportedly already securing money from foreign governments.

Axios’s Mike Allen reports that Ivanka Trump has started building a “massive fund” whose goal is to “benefit female entrepreneurs around the globe.” One source even tells Allen that “Canadians, Germans and a few Middle Eastern countries have already made quiet commitments” to the fund, as have “several corporations.”

Allen claims that President Donald Trump is a big supporter of Ivanka’s plan, and he says that Trump has already started talking with World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim about how to get the foundation off the ground “in a big way.”

President Trump last year routinely railed against the Clinton Foundation for accepting donations from foreign governments during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, although it appears that he is not applying the same ethical standards to his own daughter’s foundation."

"Trump to visit the Vatican on first foreign trip as president"

"Trump’s tour will conclude with his stops at a NATO meeting in Brussels on May 25 and at the G7 summit in Sicily the following day."

By Tara Palmeri and Madeline Conway
05/04/17 10:28 AM EDT

"President Donald Trump will travel to Saudi Arabia, followed by Israel and the Vatican, in his first foreign trip later this month. The Vatican visit will include a meeting with the Pope, according to a senior administration official.

Trump cast the trip as “historic” and a way to promote religious tolerance in remarks at an executive-order signing in the White House Rose Garden on Thursday. The visit to Saudi Arabia, he said, will include a “truly historic gathering in Saudi Arabia with leaders from all across the Muslim world.”

“Saudi Arabia is the custodian of the two holiest sites in Islam, and it is there that we will begin to construct a new foundation of cooperation and support with our Muslim allies, to combat extremism, terrorism and violence,” Trump said, “and to embrace a more just and hopeful future for young Muslims in their countries.”

“Our task is not to dictate to others how to live, but to build a coalition of friends and partners who share the goal of fighting terrorism and bringing safety, opportunity and stability to the war-ravaged Middle East,” he said.

Trump’s tour will conclude with stops at a NATO meeting in Brussels on May 25 and at the G-7 summit in Sicily the following day.

The first foreign visit is typically a milestone for a new president. The stakes are high for White House staff, who are seeking to firm up alliances overseas.

The president’s Vatican stop comes after months of public back-and-forth on immigration with Pope Francis. During the presidential campaign, the pope seemed to question Trump’s professed Christian faith, telling reporters, “A person who only thinks about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.”
Become a Washington insider.

Trump responded by charging that the remarks were “disgraceful” and said he “liked the pope” before he heard them. “No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith,” Trump said at a campaign rally.

“If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS's ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been president,” said Trump.

Since Trump’s inauguration this year, Pope Francis has continued to criticize the president and his agenda, if indirectly. In February, he urged an audience at the Vatican “to not raise walls but bridges, to not respond to evil with evil, to overcome evil with good” and again suggested that Trump’s behavior was not in line with the values of Christianity".

Kushner family in Beijing: 'Invest $500,000 and immigrate' to US
http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/06/news/jar...d=37302522
Nicole Kushner Meyer, the sister of White House adviser and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, spoke at an event in Beijing on Saturday. She was marketing a Kushner-owned property in New Jersey -- invest in the development and get into the United States on a so-called EB-5 visa.
The EB-5 visa allows immigrants a path to a green card if they invest more than $500,000 in a project that creates jobs in the United States.

Trump Looms as Kushner Companies Courts Investors in China
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/07/busin...visas.html
Like many American firms that come to China looking for money, Kushner Companies tried to woo a Shanghai audience with promises of big returns and a path toward living in the United States.

But for Bi Ting, who attended the Kushner event on Sunday, part of the appeal was political: Jared Kushner is the son-in-law of — and a powerful adviser to — President Trump. Virtually unknown in China just months ago, he is now recognized here as a deeply influential figure in American politics.

Jared Kushner's sister woos China's "golden visa" investors
http://pilotonline.com/news/nation-world...048ef.html
The sister of President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner has been in China courting individual investors with a much-criticized federal visa program that provides a path toward obtaining U.S. green cards.

Kushner's sister Nicole Meyer promoted One Journal Square, a Kushner Companies' development in Jersey City, at an event Sunday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Shanghai, according to participants.

The pitch seeks to raise funds from Chinese investors through the U.S. government's EB-5 visa program, which allows permanent U.S. residency for those who finance projects that create a certain amount of jobs.

This one scares me some reason.

Trump seizes on election rules to push agenda
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/t...li=BBnb7Kz
President Trump has headlined four big rallies in the first months of his presidency to tout his agenda and savage his foes. A new $1.5 million television ad campaign promotes his accomplishments and attacks the media.

The flurry of activity to build support for Trump’s policies isn’t organized by the White House but springs from his re-election campaign, which filed paperwork allowing him to begin raising and spending money on Jan. 20 — the same day he took the oath of office. By contrast, both President Obama and President George W. Bush had been in office for more than two years before they filed for re-election.

Traditionally, presidents use federal money to push their policies and refrain from overtly political activity until later in their terms. But Trump’s unorthodox move to immediately start fundraising allows him to capitalize on federal election laws to push his agenda in new ways. He can rally his supporters, openly denounce his political enemies and pressure recalcitrant lawmakers in Congress — all without running afoul of rules that bar using taxpayer money for politics.

Eric Trump said Russians fund family's golf courses: golf writer
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/e...li=BBnb7Kz
Dodson, who co-authored Arnold Palmer's biography "A Golfer's Life," said he met with Donald Trump that year at the businessman’s golf club in North Carolina. Trump nonchalantly remarked that he “had access to $100 million” for golf courses, Dodson said.

Dodson said he asked Eric Trump about that cash when the two of them hit the links.

“When I got in the cart with Eric, as we were setting off, I said, ‘Who’s funding?’” Dodson said in the interview.

“I know no banks — because of the recession, the Great Recession — have touched a golf course. No one’s funding any kind of golf construction. It’s dead in the water the last four or five years. And this is what he said. He said, 'Well, we don’t rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.' I said, 'Really?' And he said, 'Oh, yeah. We’ve got some guys that really, really love golf, and they’re really invested in our programs. We just go there all the time.’”

Speaking to the Daily News, Dodson said Trump was “simple and casual” about the Russia relationship.
<snip>
Dodson said he did not doubt the story because it is common for Russians to invest in golf courses, and because Trump was opening clubs at a time when few other moguls still did so.
<snip>
Trump’s other adult son, Donald Jr., once dropped a similar remark about taking funds from Russia.

At a 2008 real estate conference, Donald Jr. told the crowd that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets.”

“We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

Donald Trump’s political career has been shrouded with questions about his mysterious affection for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his contradictory statements about deals with Russia. Trump has most recently claimed to have no ties to Russia, despite references years ago to meetings with Putin and business deals in the country.

I have been warning all of LOP for over a year now that Trump is a conman. A fake populist, a fake anti Globalist, Trump is a self serving billionaire scam artist, that will sell this country to the wealthy elites and smile about the gullibility of the American people that believed what he said at his rallies, the people that made him powerful.

First I would like to welcome anybody to post updates in this thread that are on topic.

I am going to start with a link to a thread I posted a few days ago that is right on topic:
http://lunaticoutpost.com/thread-707484.html

Please add links to posts that you made previously that follow the topic.

Lots to add that is new today:

After Running On Economic Populism, Republicans Want To Destroy The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
Business groups and congressional Republicans have yet to get the memo on Donald Trump’s swamp-draining agenda.

WASHINGTON ― Senate Republicans are gearing up for an assault on one of the trademark populist achievements of the Obama administration, vowing to take on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

The agency, the brainchild of Elizabeth Warren, back when she was a law professor, was enacted as part of the 2010 Wall Street reform bill. Since then, it has returned nearly $12 billion to 27 million consumers who’d been victims of one predatory scam or another. More than 1 million consumer complaints have been filed with the agency.

Targeting the CFPB would seem to be a strange move under President-elect Donald Trump, a populist who won the White House on the back of deep economic anxiety, promising to break the hold the rich and powerful have on Washington.

Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), formerly chairman of the Banking Committee, told HuffPost he wanted to see the agency eliminated. “My top priority is either to bring the consumer agency under appropriations” ― which would give Congress the power to shrink its budget, or bar it from spending money on certain activities ― “or abolish it. But we’ll see what we can do,” he said. “I think it’s been a nightmare, to a lot of businesses, small business. Unbridled power, arrogance.”

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that congressional Republicans were teaming up with pro-business groups to take on the agency. A source close to Trump’s transition team said that Randy Neugebauer, a strident opponent of the CFPB, was being floated as the new head of the agency, if the administration removes its current chief, Richard Cordray.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/cons...s_politics

Pro-business groups are the same ones fighting to keep Americans paying higher pharma prices than the rest of the world does, lobbying to pass laws targeting unions, consumer rights and overtime pay.

The GOP is owned by them.

Foreign governments are now openly admitting they can woo Ivanka Trump to influence her father

"Foreign governments seeking to find favor with President Donald Trump are forgoing diplomatic channels and reaching out to his most trusted adviser, his daughter, using invitations to galas and social events to get on her good side.

According to the Washington Post, first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner — both political neophytes working in the White House — have become desirable targets for embassy functions as a way to influence the President.

“She’s, like, preapproved,” admitted Hynek Kmoníček, the Czech ambassador to the United States. “We would like her to know that we are the country where she might find a surprising number of people who will treat her very, very nice.”

Kmoníček added, “I hope I will be able to put a selfie on the Twitter.”

Pulled from the New York City social scene, the couple has jumped into the Washington DC’s diplomatic circle where they are coveted not only for their social cachet, but because they have the president’s ear.

“She’s being seen as a goodwill ambassador slash adviser, slash soft-power effort for an administration that has had a lot of challenges in those areas,” explained a senior diplomat representing a Latin American country. “By all accounts, she seems to be everything that her father is not: likable, soft-spoken, and she’s not impulsive, she seems to be thinking through everything that she does.”

With First Lady Melania Trump often on the sidelines, the president has substituted for her by using his daughter as a hostess at White House events where she meets and greets foreign leaders — often to her financial advantage, recently being awarded valuable trademark approval in China after a state dinner."

Trump Attorney Didn’t See Need For Him To Certify Financial Disclosure As True

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump’s attorneys originally wanted him to submit an updated financial disclosure without certifying the information as true, according to correspondence with the Office of Government Ethics.

Attorney Sheri Dillon said she saw no need for Trump to sign his 2016 personal financial disclosure because he is filing voluntarily this year. But OGE director Walter Shaub said his office would only work with Dillon if she agreed to follow the typical process of having Trump make the certification. That is standard practice for the thousands of financial disclosure forms OGE processes each year.

The Associated Press obtained the letters under a Freedom of Information Act request.

“As we discussed, OGE will provide this assistance on the condition that the President is committed to certifying that the contents of his report are true, complete and correct,” Shaub wrote in a May 10 letter. “When we met on April 27, 2017, you requested that he be excused from providing this certification.”

In her letter to Shaub, Dillon says the president will “sign and file” documents regarding his 2016 financials by mid-June — an indication that she agreed to the OGE requirement that the president certify the information as true to the best of his knowledge."

RE: Trump's Gross Hypocrisy/Corruption Thread, post em while you still can: UPDATES
I came here about a week ago to see what people were saying about this whole Trump-Russia thing.

I was honestly baffled to see that now that there is an actual conspiracy going on, conspiracy theorists take a dump all over it because they believed this idiot's anti-establishment narrative despite the fact that it's been obvious from the start that he's a pathological liar and a conman. How could they not see the manipulation during his campaign?! It was so damn obvious.

Trump’s team knew that people wouldn't take him seriously. The only way he could pick up steam as an outlier at the beginning of his campaign was to make himself the voice of a gullible but passionate group that is also marginalized and doesn't have a voice. Conspiracy theorists were perfect for that. He played conspiracy theorists like a violin by adopting their Obama birther and anti-MSM narrative. The anti-MSM narrative was a self-fulfilling prophecy akin to how Bible thumpers use the following Bible quote to prove that the Bible is true : Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”
So when the MSM did not take the orange buffoon seriously as would be totally expected, he pointed and said “Look! I was right! They’re attacking me because I’m right!“ and the fools believed in his victimhood. This gave him ground to push the anti-establishment narrative.

It all went downhill from there as non-conspiracy types started paying attention to him for how he was anti-PC, how he “spoke his mind” and how he played on their fears and prejudices. He posed as anti-establishment (Which ironically contradicts the general conspiracy theory that one does not get rich in this world unless they're part of it) and as uncorruptible since he was already rich (When his wealth really should have raised red flags, since one seldom gets rich in this world without exploiting people, being crooked or being a conman, especially not ignorant people like him).

Up until he was actually elected, part of me thought there was no way his candidacy wasn't some sort of joke to prove a point about how people can be conned. This is how obvious his con job was.

Here's what this reveals : Conspiracy theorists and those that they call "sheeple" are 2 sides of the same coin. They will believe whatever follows their favored narrative.

What I really don't understand is this insistance on how Clinton and Trump can’t both be crooked. Anti-Trump? You’re automatically labelled as a Clinton shill which is beyond stupid. Guess what Trumpeteers, Clinton isn’t at the wheel. She doesn't matter right now. I never thought there was such a thing as a sore winner, but Trumpeteers made it a reality.

Trump made it clear on his “Thank you” tour that now that he was elected, he didn’t care about locking up Clinton (so clearly he didn't think of her as that much of a threat), about a rigged system, about draining the swamp. You can hear him here https://youtu.be/Mkxrzece_Ig
Despite this, there are still hordes of fools defending him and thinking he’s fighting the good fight. He is not the savior you were looking for. Like I said, 2 sides of the same coin. You were wrong and there are people who knew it from the start. Maybe you should listen to them next time.

The only reason he is still bringing up Clinton is to use her as a convenient cop out, excuse and distraction for the fools that still believe him so they don't look at how dirty he himself is. He never had the intention of bringing her down. So the first step to "lock her up" is to kick out Trump.
