RE: Trump's Gross Hypocrisy/Corruption Thread, post em while you still can: UPDATES
Let the far right idiots start the spinning to explain how Ivanka's Fund is legal and a charity and not corruption at all,.... even when the Saudi king gives a hundred MILLION dollars to the fund on the same weekend her husband helps broker a 350 BILLION dollar deal to give a new generation of high tech weaponry to the country that sent 19 terrorists to destroy the US on 9/11. (The 110 million figure is just the first part of a total of 350 Billion arms deal over about about three years).

"On Same Weekend as Record-Breaking Arms Deal, Saudis Announced $100 Million Donation to Ivanka Fund Over the weekend, Jared Kushner was credited with negotiating a $110 billion arms deal with the Saudis.

"Over the weekend, Jared Kushner was credited with negotiating a $110 billion arms deal to the Saudis, the largest arms deal in U.S. history:

The deal was finalized in part thanks to the direct involvement of Jared Kushner, the President's son-in-law and senior adviser. He shocked a high-level Saudi delegation earlier this month when he personally called Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Hewson and asked if she would cut the price of a sophisticated missile detection system, according to a source with knowledge of the call. Pressured to finalize a massive $100-plus billion arms deal in the two weeks leading up to Trump's trip to Saudi Arabia, Kushner hoped to maneuver a discount on Lockheed's Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system during the Saudis' visit to the White House on May 1 -- a request that Hewson said she would look into at the time.
Coincidentally, the Saudis have also agreed to donate a whopping $100 million to the recently announced women's fund inspired by Jared Kushner’s wife, Ivanka Trump:

The World Bank plans to announce Sunday at an event with Ivanka Trump, the U.S. president’s daughter and senior White House adviser, that Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have pledged $100 million collectively toward a fund for women who own or want to start businesses, according to people familiar with the announcement.

You know what would advance women in Saudi Arabia? Rights. Actual rights guaranteeing their protection and equality.

The Wall Street Journal is quick to note that Ivanka Trump doesn’t personally solicit these donations. It can’t be helped they magically follow her around:

Ms. Trump has made the promotion of women entrepreneurs a signature part of her focus since her father’s inauguration in January. She has advocated for issues such as paid family leave, though the issue has gained little traction in Congress. While she had proposed the idea of the World Bank fund, Ms. Trump doesn’t control it or raise money for it, one person familiar with the plans said.

$100 million is quite the kick starter for a vaguely defined fund, right? Vanity Fair questioned the fund's intent last month when the fund first came to light:

Others disputed that characterization. A White House official stressed to The Washington Post that while Ivanka helped inspire the idea, she will not be involved in soliciting funds. “This is not a White House fund. This is not something that she will have any authority over in any way,” the official said. The initiative was first mentioned publicly by German Chancellor Angela Merkel during the panel, though a Trump administration official credited Ivanka for raising the idea during a meeting with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim.

The donations and the White House are not tied. Definitely not. No way! It is a total coincidence the $100 million dollar donation is being made the same weekend a $110 billion arms deal is announced. And never mind that Ivanka Trump is traveling to Saudi Arabia in her official capacity as an ‘Assistant to the President of the United States.’

Let’s recall Donald Trump’s reaction when it came to the Saudis donating to the Clinton Foundation. From October 2016:

When Chris Wallace asked Clinton about reports of conflicts of interest at the foundation, she responded, "I'm thrilled to talk about the Clinton Foundation because it is a world renowned charity and I'm so proud of the work that it does."

Trump shot in that it's a "criminal enterprise."

"Saudi Arabia given $25 million, Qatar, all of these countries. You talk about women and women's rights? These are people that push gays off business, off buildings. These are people that kill women and treat women horribly and yet you take their money," Trump said. "So I'd like to ask you right now why don't you give back the money that you've taken from certain countries that treat certain groups of people so horribly?"

Nobody can defend this BS. Trump said he was going to drain the swamp.
NOBODY believes giving more power and obscurity to lobbyists has anything to do with draining any swamps, Trump is building bigger murkier swamps. Jhikpghf Scream1 His cabinet and staff now has 6 or 7 Goldman Sachs honchos in it, Rex Tillerson (CEO of Exxon) is Trump's Secretary of State, Trump just closed down all of the wall street reforms in Dodd-Frank Act. The list goes on and on,....

Trump administration makes ‘unprecedented’ move to block identifying ex-lobbyists working in the White House

"The Trump administration is trying to block the disclosure of the names of former lobbyists who have obtained waivers to work at the White House.

The New York Times reports that the administration last week “sent a letter to Walter M. Shaub Jr., the head of the Office of Government Ethics, asking him to withdraw a request he had sent to every federal agency for copies of the waivers” for the former lobbyists.

The OGE requested copies of the waivers because the Trump administration has hired dozens of ex-lobbyists — and without knowing the identities of the people granted waivers, it would be impossible to know if they are violating federal ethics laws.

The report notes that the administration’s move to block disclosure is a “highly unusual” procedure, and Shaub told the Times that he had “never seen anything like it” before.

Marilyn L. Glynn, who served as general counsel and acting director of the OGE under former President George W. Bush, similarly said that the White House’s move is “unprecedented and extremely troubling” because “it challenges the very authority of the director of the agency and his ability to carry out the functions of the office.”

While both Trump and former President Barack Obama reserved the rights to issue waivers for ex-lobbyists working in their administrations, Obama released those waivers to the public."

Wow this is big. Trump is clearly obstructing justice, with this revelation, then when he asked Comey for "loyalty" and to stop the Michael Flynn investigation!

Trump asked top intelligence officials to publicly deny collusion between campaign, Russia, officials say

"President Trump asked two of the nation’s top intelligence officials in March to help him push back against an FBI investigation into possible coordination between his campaign and the Russian government, according to current and former officials.

Trump made separate appeals to the director of national intelligence, Daniel Coats, and to Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency, urging them to publicly deny the existence of any evidence of collusion during the 2016 election.

Coats and Rogers refused to comply with the requests, which they both deemed to be inappropriate, according to two current and two former officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private communications with the president.

Trump sought the assistance of Coats and Rogers after FBI Director James B. Comey told the House Intelligence Committee on March 20 that the FBI was investigating “the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.”"

POTUS for profit, emolumenter in chief, scumbag thief and liar, conman scammer, etc. etc. etc. Scream1 Jhikpghf

Trump Org: You Can’t Expect Us To Turn Over ALL Our Foreign Payments
It would “diminish the guest experience of our brand,” a Trump Organization pamphlet says.

"WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump does not plan to track or forward all the Trump Organization’s profits from foreign governments to the U.S. Treasury, as he promised to do in January when he announced he would maintain ownership of his multibillion-dollar business enterprise.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, disclosed a glossy eight-page Trump Organization pamphlet on Wednesday detailing the company’s plans to pool profits from foreign governments and return them to the Treasury. George Sorial, the chief compliance officer of the Trump Organization, sent the pamphlet to the committee in response to its inquiry.

The Trump Organization pamphlet reveals that the company will not attempt to fully identify and return payments or profits from foreign governments or foreign government-owned entities ― in apparent violation of the Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause. This clause forbids the president or other executive branch officials from receiving any payment, title or benefit from foreign governments.

“This pamphlet raises grave concerns about the President’s refusal to comply with the Constitution merely because he believes it is ‘impractical’ and could ‘diminish the guest experience of our brand,’” Cummings wrote to Sorial.

The Trump Organization sent the pamphlet to Trump properties on April 11. As Cummings notes, the pamphlet states that identifying all foreign government payments would be “impractical in the service industry” and would “diminish the guest experience of our brand.”

The pamphlet continues, “It is not the intention nor design of this policy for our properties to attempt to identify individual travelers who have not specifically identified themselves as being a representative of a foreign government entity on foreign government business.”

Instead, the pamphlet instructs Trump properties to only return profits on identifiable direct payments from foreign governments, foreign embassies, foreign political parties, royal family members and sovereign wealth funds ― who would have to proactively identify themselves as such, without requiring the Trump property to seek out this information another way.

The Trump Organization policy notably excludes payments from foreign government-owned corporations or other entities often used by foreign governments.

“We recognize that foreign governments can be organized in very different ways,” the pamphlet states. “Some may operate through state-owned and state-controlled entities in industries such as aerospace and defense, banking, finance, healthcare, energy and others, which may not be reasonably identifiable as foreign government entities, and therefore may not be included in our calculation of profit to be donated.”

Cummings said there were obvious “deficiencies” in the policy laid out by the Trump Organization pamphlet. Take, for instance, the Chinese-government owned bank that currently rents office space at Trump Tower in Manhattan. “Those payments would not be tracked in any way and would be hidden from the American public,” he said."

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump just got caught in another ethics violation – thanks to Instagram

"When asked about the Washington power couple’s failure to disclose these works, a White House lawyer insisted “Mr. Kushner and Ms. Trump display their art for decorative purposes and have made only a single sale.”

“To avoid any doubt, however, they will report their art collection,” the lawyer added.

While a Washington ethics lawyer told artnet “a single sale does not necessarily mean that Kushner will need to disclose his art assets.” the lawyer noted these works could be considered for investment porposes “ if there is regular activity of selling or buying pieces of artwork.”

As artnet notes, the pair is not oblivious to art investment. They’ve retained the services of prominent art adviser Alex Marshall to build their collection, and hosted dinners for the art auction house Sothebys. Trump’s website also extolls the virtues of starting an art collection, encourage readers to “invest early in young, on-the-rise artists whose work you love and can afford.”

“Think of art as an investment,” the 2015 article adds.

Ethics expert Craig Holeman, said Trump’s use of art to build her brand image constitutes a need to disclose. “The art is being used to promote the business interests,” Holman told artnet, “It may draw people into it, especially for something like a line of clothing, and cultural business activities that Ivanka Trump stands for.”

“It should be fully disclosed,” he added.

Trump and Kushner have faced criticism for failing to disclose aspects of their wealth. In May, it was reported Trump’s son-in-law-turned-top-adviser failed to disclose ownership of a real estate startup with ties to Goldman Sachs. He also did not mention his part-ownership of the real estate firm Cadre, which is backed by Goldman Sachs and billionaire Trump-backer Peter Thiel."

I'm very happy with President Donald Trump. Considering the DC environment of corruption and intrigue, it's amazing that our president has accomplished anything. He's reduced the flow of aliens, built greater business confidence, and assured the world that we mean business as a nation and will not be trifled with.

I trust that this will continue, regardless of setbacks.

Trump blurts out classified intel, again.

Pentagon officials are in shock after the release of a transcript between President Donald Trump and his Philippines counterpart reveals that the US military had moved two nuclear submarines towards North Korea.

“We never talk about subs!” three officials told BuzzFeed News, referring to the military’s belief that keeping submarines’ movement stealth is key to their mission.

The Atlantic’s James Fallows added that countries like China and Russia are likely to exploit the revelation, going back and calibrating their sensors accordingly for future detection.

Some may want to be charitable, cutting the amateur president some slack because he doesn’t have any background in or understanding of sensitive intelligence, but let’s not forget that this is the second time – that we know of – that Trump has been caught sharing classified information with a foreign country for no apparent reason.

The significance of a story like this goes well beyond marveling at Trump’s ineptitude. As the president develops a reputation as someone who’s recklessly blurting out secrets to foreigners, it’s easy to imagine our allies abroad withholding intelligence from U.S. officials, U.S. officials withholding intelligence from the White House, or both.

"Besty DeVos says state-funded schools can reject LGBTQ students"

Source: LGBTQ Nation

By Erin Rook · Thursday, May 25, 2017

"Education Secretary Betsy DeVos said that schools receiving publicly-funded vouchers should be allowed to discriminate against LGBTQ students without risking their funding.

During a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing Wednesday on the proposed federal school voucher program, DeVos told Rep. Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) in a tense exchange that “school choice” and state flexibility are more important that protecting vulnerable students’ right to an equal education.

Clark presented the example of Lighthouse Christian Academy, a private Indiana school that currently receives $665,000 in voucher funds but reserves the right to deny attendance to children from families “living in, condoning sexual immorality; practicing homosexual lifestyle or alternate gender identity; promoting such practices.”

“If Indiana applies for this federal funding, will you stand up that this school be open to all students?” Clark asked."
