Rosenstein notified Congress he will not turn over the subpoenaed memos and will not appear before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/10...l-hearing/

-NYT reports (McCabe memos) Rosenstein discussed recording the President
-FBI Chief Counsel Jim Baker: Rosenstein was serious about recording POTUS
-McCabe memos subpoenaed by Congress

Rosenstein won’t turn over memos, and he’s a no-show for tomorrow’s scheduled questioning.

Something to hide?
Court order. If he fails, he gets locked up.

He is the law. Sessions would be the only one who could get him locked up. And Sessions refuses to do his job.

There is Congress' own police force, the United States Capitol Police who can take anyone into custody at the order of Congressmen. BUT YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP to the halls of Congress for that scenario to play out.
Which is why Rod will not show. He knows that risk is there if they know the crimes were committed....they could order him into custody tomorrow had he shown.
The Capitol Police do not have jurisdiction outside of those walls.

I believe a Marshall can still be sent for him.

RE: Rosenstein notifies Congress he will NOT turn over the subpoenaed memos
Congress is "investigating" everyone because they have no authority to prosecute or punish anyone. With the Repubs holding both houses and Trump actually wanting to improve the country; the criminals who run things on both sides of the aisle in DC have decided that congress will be gridlocked by endless investigations. Rather than passing laws for Trump.

They couldn't actually punish their own foot soldiers so they are giving them a public spanking instead. Maximum congressional penalty is something like a year in prison and 10k.

The last time Congress arrested and detained a witness was in 1935.
Their approval rating is lower than a proctologist who's moonlighting as a dentist.

Trump says "Rosenstein is my guy" Which translates to "You bought a ticket, enjoy the show" Trump is just following orders, it was clear the day he re-hired Rosenstein. Rosenstein went from Working for Bill Clinton's DOJ to working for Ken Starr, to working for Bill Clinton's white house. I don't think he even took a job between those. Talk about the appearance of impropriety. He's been whitewashing houses around DC for 35 years. He's he only US attorney to work for the last 4 presidents. He wasn't a "US" attorney under Clinton but he worked for him twice.

His wife another XYZ lawyer has defended Bill Clinton on numerous occasions.

Trump says "he's my guy" 1935 is the last time congress has even detained anyone.

Trump invites Rosenstein on Air Force One, no plans to fire him
The trip provided an opportunity for their most extensive conversation since reports that the deputy AG had discussed possibly secretly recording the president.

Rosenstein's interview with Trump's congressional allies postponed indefinitely
Source: The Washington Post

By Karoun Demirjian and Devlin Barrett October 10 at 12:27 PM

"Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein’s interview with a joint House panel reviewing the Justice Department investigation of President Trump’s alleged Russia ties will not take place this week as expected, according to congressional aides involved with the planning.

The House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees were expected to speak with Rosenstein behind closed doors Thursday as part of their probe into federal law enforcement’s conduct during the investigations of Trump’s campaign and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. But a dispute over the interview’s terms prevented the committees and the Justice Department from reaching a deal to hold the meeting, according to people familiar with the discussions.

The delay means Rosenstein may not appear on Capitol Hill for an interview until after next month’s election, potentially exposing him to a subpoena. The House Judiciary Committee has frequently used subpoenas in this probe to compel witness testimony and the production of Justice Department documents.

“We have many questions for Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and expect answers to those questions,” a House Judiciary Committee aide said. “There is not at this time a confirmed date for a potential meeting. Nevertheless, we will continue to provide updates as we have them.”

RE: Rosenstein notifies Congress he will NOT turn over the subpoenaed memos
On Tuesday we reported that the FBI's former top attorney, James Baker, told Congressional investigators last week that Rosenstein wasn't joking about taping Trump.

"As far as Baker was concerned, this was a real plan being discussed," reports The Hill's John Solomon, citing a confidential source.

"It was no laughing matter for the FBI," the source added.

Solomon points out that Rosenstein's comments happened right around the time former FBI Director James Comey was fired.
