I thought it was so that they had some one to mooch money off of

greedy people think of money first. greedy people don't want people around them because they don't want anyone who will "take what they have". fine, greedy people can hang with other rich powerful evil people and ruin the damn world.

To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead, or endeavoring to convert an atheist by scripture. Enjoy, sir, your insensibility of feeling and reflecting. It is the prerogative of animals. Thomas Paine: American Crisis

All my friends are, like me, set for life as far as money is concerned, and we are all single. THAT right there eliminated 95% of the reasons friendships go sour. None of us burdens others with financial woes (and all the bullshit that comes with that such as discussions of politics and evil elites and banksters), and none of us are burdened by family obligations. We live our own lives and we can do whatever the funk we want. When you live like that, you have no reason to be bummed, and no reason to take others down with you by burdening them with your woes. Good friends should never create a reason why you might not want to answer the phone when they call.

I would NEVER be rich. I'm too decent a person.

no, actually they are pretty damn high. I find nothing appealing in sitting on a pile of money instead of helping someone with it. People that do that have hard and cold and unfeeling hearts. They are friends to no one if all they are thinking about is what people might want from them.

Mostly social climbing, as most people play relationships are part of a dominant culture of social climbing. The random people that don't care about that get used as fuel in that system they don't take part in. Those people should move

human company. Company that doesn't judge or condemn or criticize or want you to improve or have to be anyone other than who you are. Someone who accept you for who you are. Someone who knows all about you, someone you can unburden youself to, and spill your guts to, and won't treat you like a stranger afterwards but still wants to be your friend.

loyalty. trust. companionship. camarderie.

yeah, I know what real friendship is because I guess in one life or another I've had it. But a lot of people I know today are only friends until they have some weakness or perceived weakness about you that they either exploit or simply walk away from. The whole 'what can you do for me' thing is not friendship.
