...and if so, was it a + or a —? Mine are these: George Montgomery, actor/sculpturer +, Brad Gillis.— & Jeff Watson + guitarists of Night Ranger, Eric Johnson + guitar virtouso, Trevor Rabin + guitar virtouso/composer, Selena Quinanilla ++ singer & my 2nd cousin, Bob Daisley + bass guitarist, Tommy Aldridge + drummer, Ozzy Osbourne + vocalist, Billy Sheehan + bass guitarist, Joe Satriani + guitar virtouso. Those are my favorites. What are yours?

It's interesting that today's heros are celebrities and rock stars, I guess it has to do with media exposure more than anything else but that's how it is.

I've only had a few encounters mostly with jazz musicians such as John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Danny Gottlieb and Chris Carter... all neutral to somewhat positive.

I have a mentally handicapped son though who has become friends with a drummer in a local band, really nice family guy, who he loves and seeks to emulate.. without wanting to this guy has become a real role model in my sons eyes.

There's also a local cover band that is excellent with some really nice guys who go out of their way and treat him really special.

So, mostly unknown heros I guess.

I once met Steve Perryman. I didn't like him though as he was playing for Spurs at the time.

I finally got to see "Cowboy Jim", a star of a kid show I used to watch, at our local supermarket. He did some of his rope tricks and I thought, "So THAT's how he does it! Dang! I could do tricks like that if my rope was THAT stiff!"
