He won't leave America, while so many people love him and pray for him to stay.

Then he shouldn't take the job.

The students can nominate and vote for they would like. He's going to put a man full-time on it, and they will report back to him and he will do what has to be done. He's already told the students that if he wins on Monday, he will come to Glasgow before the end of March to have a meeting with them all. Listen to what he has said and what he is willing to do for the students.

He's doing another Q&A with the students on Monday. He's also talking about bringing some other speakers from America with him when he makes his regular visits. He's really serious about this position, and intends to put serious effort into it. Although he also has other projects in America that he is already committed too, and the launch of his book this year.

The students have also got some ideas of their own to promote freedom of speech on and off campus, and he has offered them funding towards their projects.

I think he would do a great job, and its an opportunity for him to show his maturity too. He knows students look up to him, and that they're looking for a strong leader to represent them. He's also aware that it is a huge responsibility and a three year commitment.

March is a great month for the Greeks, so go for Milo Glasgow.

Not everyone is a fan, btw. I find him absolutely REVOLTING.

That's an interesting word and can be viewed in different ways.

And he's really serious about it and he's offering to do a real job of it. He's offering a full-time member of staff to work with the students. Go three times a year to Glasgow, which is more than Edward Snowden was able to do. He's also committed to giving grants for students and any other support that they require to promote freedom of speech, and freedom of expression on and off of campus. Of course, he would also be representing the views and interests of the students to the university academics.

He's just back from holiday in Hawaii, and has done his first Q&A with the students from Glasgow Uni. The Q&A begins at about 8.35 if you are interested in the soundness of his offer.

His two main competitors for the job appear to be two politicians.

Throughout history and throughout the 116 Rectors that the students of the University of Glasgow have elected to represent them, the Rector has been a person with a goal for the positive development of Glasgow and, overall, for society.

The takeaway message from many of the Rectorial addresses is that it is a great honour for these candidates to serve the student body; that they themselves will endeavour to uphold human freedoms and rights, and strive for greater equality, compassion and understanding on the students’ behalf. The Rector, if indeed they are to be viewed as a symbol, should uphold the principles which the student body also uphold. We can only hope that these principles cause positive change for future of the citizens of Glasgow and the rest of the world.

If we are truly, as the University’s motto suggests, “world changers”, then we must also have a world changer represent us. It can only be hoped that they will change the world for the better.

.. must be difficult to understand.. and/or.. accept.. that your opinion and 'feelings' matter so very little.. and that they are eventually going to matter even less..

He's so boring to listen to that I could barely tolerate his raging ego more than 3 minutes. What an a-hole.

I'm from Glasgow. He won't be tolerated long especially if he is pompous.
