I would...

1st. Fill any containers and bathtubs with water. Move my propane tank inside. Ration food. Get rid of the old man who rents a room in my place. Re-enforce my mobile home ala 'home alone'. Wait until most of the animal humans kill themselves off. Rig up a way to distill water to keep hydrated. Maybe go to the creek once and awhile for more water. Maybe try to tap the water from the water heaters from surrounding homes. Try to kill some kritters or scavenge food. After a couple of months make my way to the nearest river, and then to the ocean. Set up camp and survive.

Water would be the one thing I am concerned about... Heat is another...

I got sh!t load of canned food and some pills that make certain water safe to drink...But only enough for a few months...

The cold is what will kill me... Minnesota with no heat in January...

killyeah

I'll push my lil boat to the St. Croix river and then float down the Mississippi if it happened in the summer...Cheer

bread is fun to make with a breadmaker. i've learned to just toss in ingredients without measuring. i really like to make sourdough bread, that is just a matter of letting the yeast and flour sit for a day before making it. yum!!

Does your breadmaker use electricity? Stay on topic, asshat.

ouch!! that hurt! i guess i could do what i did in the boyscouts and wrap the dough around a stick and 'bake' it over a fire.

anybody else here make bread with no electricity at all?? <asshat>

Move to Nova Scotia.

What would you do?

Loot the local home depots and hardware stores for generators and put them in a cave somewhere.

i was born in Minnesota and lived many years in Fargo. The cold would be brutal and there is little to burn where i lived. i'm sure all the wood and trees would be gone in months. i'd get out of there. i live in Texas now, so the cold didn't enter my thinking.

Your trip down the Mississippi would be filled with more peril than the trips the French explorers took under a steady hail of arrows and attacks by savages.

Your grid was weak USA because you were on direct current. My ICBMs use DC. Don't want to get hit don't first strike.

This would make for a good post apocalypse book or movie. The River at Dark.

About water, we (modern humans) just thinks it comes out of a tap somewhere. every survival show says 1. Water 2. everything else... shelter probably 2, food 3.

There will be a lot of very thirsty, desperate peeps out there if the electricity goes away.

Water should be 1 on a survivalists list.
