I'm originally from Flint and I'll say this: Big, HUGE mistake to file a class action suit.

The only people who make money on a class action are the lawyers.

They should have, every single one of them, filed their own, separate lawsuit.

This will just get laughed out of court.

ETA: Years ago I was involved in a class action lawsuit against a company that was ripping off the wages of it's workers. The suit ended up being "settled" for, I cannot remember the exact amount, but it was in the millions.

Half went to the lawyers and half went to a phony, made-up, nonprofit organization that purportedly represents the people in my profession (haha).

The people who were actually ripped off by this company got a "free" pass to take a 2-hour continuing education seminar.

no a class action suit is much better - better to pool resources, witnesses. very expensive to take this on your own and alone you don't have the resources
class action is the way to go

Why can't people move?

http://www.city-data.com/income/income-F...higan.html

Because they don't have the income to move, which is usually what holds many back from making such a life change.

STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID

The poisoned water is caused by their plumbing, inside their home!

It is your faucet, stupid! It is the lead soldered plumbing joints in your pipe, stupid!

The EPA is not at fault, The city of Flint is not at fault.

The city cleaned up their water so well that it is scrubbing years of mineral build-up inside the plumbing in the people's homes that was actually protecting them, so that now they are getting a dose of lead with every glass of water.

No amount of money thrown at the fools in Flint will fix the problem until somebody figures out that every home MUST have a complete plumbing retro-fit.

You really shouldn't make such ridiculous comments about a story you obviously know nothing about.

RE: 1,700 residents of Flint, Michigan sue EPA over water crisis
The Reason that the Water system went to hell is because all of the city workers are BLACK and they dont do the maintenance properly or even care about it. I used to work in a chemical plant around Flint and the Black lady would come to test the water weekly. She would just go to the sink and fill her sample bottles and take them home when they should have been placed in our cooling water drains; I know for a fact that a ton of plating chemicals were getting dumped into the sewer. The same goes for Detroit, lazy workers that dont even show up for work let the water system degrade for 30 years and then it breaks down from no upkeep. I saw this same behavior in Africa.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.

To heck with the class action lawsuit. None of the poisoned people will see any of the money anyway.
I say PRISON TIME for all involved, ESPECIALLY those in the local government buildings who had bottled water TRUCKED INTO their offices and homes over the years knowing full good and well that their very own neighbors and countrymen were drinking poison.

what would it take for our corrupt courts and criminal judges to convict criminals? why do you think we see these crimes in the first place?
