RE: 1,700 residents of Flint, Michigan sue EPA over water crisis
I'm originally from Flint and I'll say this: Big, HUGE mistake to file a class action suit.

The only people who make money on a class action are the lawyers.

They should have, every single one of them, filed their own, separate lawsuit.

This will just get laughed out of court.

ETA: Years ago I was involved in a class action lawsuit against a company that was ripping off the wages of it's workers. The suit ended up being "settled" for, I cannot remember the exact amount, but it was in the millions.

Half went to the lawyers and half went to a phony, made-up, nonprofit organization that purportedly represents the people in my profession (haha).

The people who were actually ripped off by this company got a "free" pass to take a 2-hour continuing education seminar.

Government failure is always used as an excuse for government expansion. Government thrives on crisis and incompetence.

So..where can one find a lawyer who is not afraid to go after the system and is really interested in helping his/her clients?

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.

To heck with the class action lawsuit. None of the poisoned people will see any of the money anyway.
I say PRISON TIME for all involved, ESPECIALLY those in the local government buildings who had bottled water TRUCKED INTO their offices and homes over the years knowing full good and well that their very own neighbors and countrymen were drinking poison.

Ask not what your government can do for you. Ask what your government is doing to you.

However, be that as it may, those residents were getting their essential
optimal daily dosage of fluoride in the water. One must NEVER lose sight of
the fact that FLUORIDE is one of the top ten scientific breakthroughs of
the 20th century,,, if not in fact THE SINGLE most beneficial scientific
achievement.

All of those residents should be thanking their science and technology angels
who were watching over them day and night with loving eyes...

Class actions aren't for payouts, they are for change. That is what Flint needs as they will cap the payouts, no doubt, and people will still be stuck in Flint without the means to move and no one addressing the water issue.

Glad to hear it since the Federal government systematically poisoned them all
the EPA let them be poisoned
Hope to see a lot of heads roll, shut downs of Highly Funded Federal departments and big payout to the victims
