Feelings Are True  Wrote: (04-21-2017 01:53 AM)
I think - not only messages are exchanged here, but feelings too. That's why people come back - because we are bonding at some deeper than conscious level. It's because we are social beings and all the turmoil is our hammering things out. And everyone wants to contribute but sometimes we just want to take it in. But some don't like at all that we socialize, and they attack the board with nonsense, but it is like that monster in that sci-fi movie that only grows stronger as it is being attacked - because to attack the social fabric is to diminish ones self, so we just have to walk away, catch our breath, and return, because we are social beings and even though our messages are sullied by all the nonsense, the feelings are true and are conveyed.

Hugs

Holy Mackerel Catman!

The more rules you force people to follow the more you force them to skate the line.
A major problem is the blurring of legal and moral.
The assumption is that illegal deeds are immoral despite the obvious problems and hypocrisy inherent in the system.
When a person can clearly recognize that illegal and immoral are not connected they often take it upon themself to 'throw the baby out with the bathwater'.
Tyrannical control has caused rebellion to break out.
The rudeness you see is simply the first obvious symptom.

That's a good analysis. I find it particularly troubling how.. now to half the nation, it's COOL to be rude and offensive. And this is because of Trump stirring visceral feelings of hatred, resentment and intolerance and giving a license to act out. "Politically Correct" became a dirty word, and now callousness, rudeness and vulgarity are in style, and it's open season. "Oh, we don't HAVE to be civil anymore! We identify with being MEAN!"

Really really degrading to our nation and civilization.

I would prefer to not see you political boogeyman of choice be blamed for what is a systemic problem.
What I see is resistance to control at a beginning or basic level and it does appear to the causual observer to be childish.
One of the systems of control being rebelled against is PC culture.
To blame Trump for a cultural phenomena is to attach your personal bias to the problem and will likely lead to incorrect conclusions.

The petty nature of todays dismissal of politeness is a hint at a more fhndamental problem.
You should be happy Trump is such a transparent and bad leader.
America is ripe for a cult of personality, lucky for us Trump (imo) will fail to deliver.
Unfortunately we do not know who will take the unhappy rebellious masses and lead them to who knows what future.

Its getting out of hand folks.

People are less disciplined these days and are completely oblivious to the notion that not all of this life is Physical.

This noted, many people ONLINE. Whether it be Video Games, Chat rooms, Social Media, or Discussion Forums, seem to not realize just how detrimental they are being towards themselves and others.

I find so many vulgar and rude remarks made by people on all of these said forms of ONLINE interaction. And it simply appears that most people do not find harm in it simply because its not in the Real Physical World, but its ONLINE.

This is where im highly troubled considering the fact that the Mental, and Psychological aspects of these events hold alot of weight on the individual. This world is shared equally by Physical and Mental/Psychological forces within us. And its up to us to recognize this sharing and seek to live a balanced life. etc...

Its very troubling to see how people find no fault in some of the most basic of outright evil and wicked acts. Name calling, boasting, extremes of verbal harassment, desires of sexual immorality and violence are all seemingly to be widely prevalent online, mainly because there are no barriers preventing them from expanding.

The Psychological affects of this ignorance seems to be to be completely rewiring the human psyche and altering our entire way of life.

We are more driven towards isolated lives if you look at the bigger picture. Our closest partners in relationships are our electronic devices, and then our families and friends.

This needs to be addressed and I hope some of you are aware and have some form of concern towards this ever increasing trend of Online guilt free attitude that many people seem to be living by.

You were never in the unmoderated chat rooms on AOL or Yahoo back in the 90s were you OP? Remember? back then it was only the elite in America who had that access.

More vile filth I never heard when I was serving on a tin can in the Navy in the 70s.

Some people have deluded themselves into believing there is no accountability online and off. They don't have the ability to see it for what it is when it comes back to them. Cause and effect...drop a pebble into the water and it ripples.

There's accountability?
Really?
What makes you think that?

To clarify, I don't believe Trump CREATED this environment at all. It was already there, and in fact the racism part really came to the fore when Obama was elected. We saw many blatant racist comments coming even from our Leadership. It' was as if "safety in numbers" and they all started to "come out of the closet" and make it acceptable. Trump was willing to leverage the undercurrent of unhappiness and use that to his advantage. He harvested his base from a preexisting undercurrent, then added misogyny to it, stirring up all kinds of previously suppressed emotions that would have been more overtly expressed much sooner were it not for The Oppression of PC.
