Korean people are not Chinese and were never part of China other than some lands they had to yield as China's aggression became too strong for Korea to withstand. The ancient Gogureo Kingdom was huge and not part of China. Ignorance like this from a world leader is not acceptable really.

When you are nearing a nuclear cataclysm, you may want to have your world history right about the people you are allegedly 'defending' from aggression right outside your window.

I love how quick the media called Trump stupid, and ignorant..... He is absolutely right, it was part of China.......

Sorry, but the Han dynasty owned part of the North..... conquered is a better word for it, but the media calling Trump "Shockingly Ignorant" may want to open their text books back up. chuckle

Having worked in the corporate world anyone who becomes enraged over a comment won't last long. I saw a lot of people hit the door.

Yay for wage slave oligarchy?

Not sure how this is applicable to the situation.

All of Korea was part of China under the Qing dynasty until 1895 when the Treaty of Shimonoseki removed Korea and Taiwan from Chinese control.

RE: How a single Trump sentence enraged South Korea
Yes, yes. Notice how they are truncating the full quote in order to make it look like Trump said "he thought" it. He's the full quote:
"In an interview with the Wall Street Journal last week, Trump said Xi told him during a recent summit that “Korea actually used to be a part of China."
So he said that the Chinese president said Korea was part of China. That's actually an important distinction.

It's more of the constant propaganda against Trump for ridiculous things. It's just too bad the media doesn't spend time on his actual crimes (ie Unconstitutional bombings); we would be so much better off. But they won't, as the military and intelligence agencies have too much control of the media.
