Pretending that gravity doesn't exist will make the physics of the gyroscope impossible to understand.
Once again your personal derp has created an insurmountable roadblock between you and understanding reality.

Why does it rain? Hmm, ya mean why does rain fall down on a ball that spins 1000 mph at the equator? How about snow? It falls at the poles where earth spins 1 mph. In Colorado and Austria the world only spins at what, 500 mph or less? Yet the snow falls gently and softly. Straight down unless a wind blows it. Again, Einstein and relativity would say that the raindrops and snowflakes are syncing with earth's multiple speeds and trajectories as it rotates, revolves, and plays catch-up with the sun which travels half a million mph in a galaxy that moves at whatever speed the Nasa scientologists cook up in their freemason HQs. Down is indeed a relative term, I guess.

And more on Antarctica, the icy "continent." Various countries have bases there, to protect the penguins and keep FEers from throwing candy wrappers on the pristine ice. What in the world do they need all that construction for?

Yes, you may use a straight edge. Not one with a sharp edge though.

RE: Dedicated Flat Earth Thread,
Axial precession

A consequence of the precession is a changing pole star. Currently Polaris is extremely well suited to mark the position of the north celestial pole, as Polaris is a moderately bright star with a visual magnitude of 2.1 (variable), and it is located about one degree from the pole.[14]

The previous pole star was Kochab (Beta Ursae Minoris, β UMi, β Ursae Minoris), the brightest star in the bowl of the "Little Dipper", located 16 degrees from Polaris. It held that role from 1500 BC to AD 500 .[15] It was not quite as accurate in its day as Polaris is today.[15] Today, Kochab and its neighbor Pherkad are referred to as the "Guardians of the Pole" (meaning Polaris).[15]

On the other hand, Thuban in the constellation Draco, which was the pole star in 3000 BC, is much less conspicuous at magnitude 3.67 (one-fifth as bright as Polaris); today it is invisible in light-polluted urban skies.

The brilliant Vega in the constellation Lyra is often touted as the best north star (it fulfilled that role around 12,000 BC and will do so again around the year 14,000); however, it never comes closer than 5° to the pole.

When Polaris becomes the north star again around 27,800, due to its proper motion it then will be farther away from the pole than it is now, while in 23,600 BC it came closer to the pole.

It is more difficult to find the south celestial pole in the sky at this moment, as that area is a particularly bland portion of the sky, and the nominal south pole star is Sigma Octantis, which with magnitude 5.5 is barely visible to the naked eye even under ideal conditions. That will change from the 80th to the 90th centuries, however, when the south celestial pole travels through the False Cross.

This situation also is seen on a star map. The orientation of the south pole is moving toward the Southern Cross constellation. For the last 2,000 years or so, the Southern Cross has pointed to the south celestial pole. As a consequence, the constellation is no longer visible from subtropical northern latitudes, as it was in the time of the ancient Greeks.

"The blue that appears in the background of the insignia was chosen to be "the opposite of red, the war colour",[5] although the exact shade has never been officially specified by the United Nations.[6] The original colour the group chose in 1945 was a gray blue that differs from the current United Nations flag. The globe used in the original design was an azimuthal projection focused on the North Pole with the United States, the host nation of the conference, at the centre. The projection that was used cut off portions of the Southern Hemisphere at the latitude of Argentina, which was acceptable at the time, as Argentina was not planned to be an original member of the United Nations.[7] The projection was later altered so that no country will be at prominence within the flag. The new logo was now designed so that the globe is bisected in the centre by the Prime Meridian and the International Date Line.
In 1946, a UNO committee got the task of making a definite design, which was presented December 2, 1946, and adopted by the plenary session of the UNO on December 7, 1946. The earlier version had the globe 90 degrees turned eastward compared with the present flag, which has the Prime Meridian and the International Date Line forming the vertical diameter. According to press statements, the change was made to move North America away from the centre of the emblem.[8]"

So, the UN map symbol is just a piece of artwork and has no real bearing on anything. How else would you expect someone to depict a 3D object on a 2D surface? Would it have relieved you of your skepticism if they had put little spinning 3D globes on top of their hats for the sake of accuracy? chuckle

RE: Dedicated Flat Earth Thread,
All I know is that its almost june and we all got our winter coats on, and our furnace. Snow is covering the ground and its bitter cold and this is after we had a major Global Warming conference and protest !

Im in Colorado and Im in the major city, not in the mountains

My mind is open to anything, esp the theory of another ice age that many scientists are predicting now

They can never make up their minds.
