In order to be a mainsteam religious conservative in America, you must believe the following:

1. Geologists are wrong about the age of the world.

2. Biologists are wrong about evolution.

3. Climate scientists are wrong about global warming.

4. Historians are wrong about the Bible.

Etc., etc.

What is the purpose of this thread? to show that you are intolerant and illiberal in your outlook?

Ask yourself:

Should people be allowed to form their own opinions of the world around them? yes/no

Should people be allowed to have their own beliefs, be it, I was born in the wrong body, the world is 6,000 years old?
Yes/no

I'm very intolerant towards bullshit. We're ruining the planet and medical research is hindered because religious nuts can't keep their Holey Babble in the church.

Conservatives believe that all* lives matter!

Most people who comment negatively on a certain countries don't tend to live there..

I've never lived in the USA but have closely worked with Americans for over 30 years around the world, most of my family live in the USA, and are way to religious for my tastes.. but I still have no idea what the place is like aside from 2nd hand reports..

I will say that I have found (in 30 years) the deeply religious ones are also the nicest, kindest and most tolerant people I have met, I never ceases to amaze me how the supposedly tolerant liberal ones tend to come across as deeply judgmental, intolerant and illiberal..

I'm not commenting negatively on America. I'm a proud American who believes in the real America, which is more than religious nutjobs.

What is this real America and why does it exclude the religious?

1 local guy from around here set off for the USA with loads of local families, he founded a place called the province of Pennsylvania, and was pretty religious as where ALL the local families he took with him on his adventure, part of his work in setting up the framework of government in the province feathered into the constitution of the USA..

To suggest he, and his religious background are not part of this real America... well, kinda smacks of revisionism.

So you are not tolerant, not liberal and don't believe in freedom of expression.. Ok that is OK, we are not all made the same..

I highly doubt it changed anything much at all, perhaps in certain regressive periods where control was overly excised.. but it also swings the other way with the overly religious, like Alfred the Great bringing education to the masses, the oldest school in England is the Kings School in Canterbury (founded c597AD) and was a Cathedral School..

The Venerable Bede, English Historian and Cleric is a well known scientist.. the earth being a sphere, calculating temperate zones etc... Sir Patrick More believes Bede to be Britains greatest astronomer.. and we are talking 7th century here..

The anti-religious typically go for the dark ages crutch while completely unaware they're implying only the religious have had a lust for conquest and blood.

Government is their god.

Same as it ever was with do-nothings.

Feeding people is part of the religious life.
Christ fed thousands with five loaves and two fishes.

Nobody needs to be told how literally to understand the story, but the
idea involves sharing. -Food for the body, food for the mind, and
food for the soul.

I believe they say it happened just after he said "blessed are the peacemakers,,, they shall be called 'children of God'."

Some people have a calling for feeding people. They don't grow crappy
scientifically engineered and artificially fertilized mass produced food either.
They culture organic foods that use the properties of the soil and the plants
to symbiotically benefit the Earth. It's an amazing system of recycling
and life.

This is as religious, beautiful, healthy, and conservative as it gets!
Sharing with families and individuals.

Genesis 3 is an allegory.
It goes quite over the heads of literalists.
As everyone knows, Genesis is a transliteration for the word 'gnosis'.

Adam lived 935 years with the command to produce children. Adam and Eve had dozens if not hundreds of children, not 3

Atheists.

LOP is easier if you believe you don't have actual conversations with people.

50% of American's believe that God created the universe and everything in it, including Man in his image, in 6 days.

70% of Americans believe Jesus will return and save them.

80% of Americans believe we are guided, controlled or influenced by a superior being of some description.

.......this just leaves a rare few that are right....chuckle

Not necessiraly. 24% of Americans voted for Donald Trump meaning 76% were correct in their opinion of him.
